Apocalypse Nightcrawler in the Apocalypse Movie - Part 1

Of the 'new' characters introduced in this film, Nightcrawler was my favorite.

Kodi nailed it. Definitely one of the strongest young castings.

Nightcrawler was great fun in this. Consistant with what we have seen previously, with a little more pubecent awkwardness. He provided great comic relief, and his power is always fun to see on screen. My only complaint is that Singer could have made more use of his faith. In a film where he looks up to a mutant as a sort of savior (his own mother no less), and is fighting a mutant that presents himself as a god, there was certainly a lot of thematic material there to mine. Bit of a waste.

I was thinking: in a scene where Nightcrawler rescues professor by teleporting him away from Apocalypse, during a mind-transfer process, we can see when Kurt teleports, he's doing one move, from holding Xavier in pyramid, to puts him down on jet's floor with some kind of purple lights around them and kinda weird space. Do you think it was a way to show teleportation through Kurt's eyes, like he is seeing it, or it was a way to show disconnection of Xavier and Apocalypse?

I saw that too. I thought it was to show the 'wormhole' that Kurt creates to go from A to B. I've never really imagined that he had any awareness of the 'between' but just instantaneously reappeared in the destination.

However, the comics later came up with that story about Azazel and the Brimstone Dimension (in which Nightcrawler and other teleporters were shown to travel via this other sulphurous realm that connected to all points on Earth)

Hm, we can also see, for the first time in the movies, Cyclops using lasers beam from his perspective, so perhaps it was teleportation through Kurt's eyes. Cool. Befor we can only see him starting one move, then bamf, and next - ending this move and I was always wondering where he was through that time between.

Yeah, it can be cooler but not very much cooler. In this movie he is shown like an circus acrobat, even skinny, without any fighting skills and his power of telepertation was always used to escape or hide, so I think he improved in next movies.
