Apocalypse Oscar Isaac IS Apocalypse - Part 2

What thing on his head? He has a lot of things on his head.

So whats his original body ?
But I did think Apo in his armor got Oscar's body in the trailer
reality is Oscar is the host of Apo and the armor was empty ?

Well in the comics, it was believed that Apocalypse's original body is ravaged by the Techno-Organic Virus itself and that's how he was able to alter himself with celestial technology (so maybe they might hint at a quick surprise cameo of time-traveling Cable in ancient Egypt? Who knows.) But he switches bodies regularly by transferring his consciousness and powers into a host body who then must wear an exoskeleton body armor in order to contain the vast amount of the power and energies he has. They describe Apocalypse in the movie as some energy-like source or entity, if I'm not mistaken.

Me too, but a lot of us were going from the early set pictures which were not lit how the actual film would be and long before the additional CGI is finished

I'm still trying to figure out what the additional CGI to Apocalypse is. Other than altering his eyes, it still look like the costume they put Oscar Issac in, just merely color corrected. I know he grows (likely using CGI) in the "astral battle" sequence, but his armor look no different than the practical costume. Does he change form completely as the film progresses and that's the CGI enhancement? They did say he would be a combination of practical and CGI.

It reminds me of the box-art of X-Men Legends II.

If he returns I hope they will remove the helmet.

I think it's the eyes and his lip lining, in the set photos and the Entertainment Weekly photo he has only half his lip lines which end at his cheeks. In some shots in the trailers he has his classic lips which are all connected, other shots he doesn't so I'm guessing it's just unfinished CGI in certain clips... I assume they made it a cgi add-on so Isaac could speak without prosthetics falling off.

Remove helmet?
It's part of his body after merging with alien technology.

they should've done what they did with Vision, and used CG to slim down the prosthetic
his dome looks quite huge

I don't really care. He didn't have to wear it all the time in the comics, in fact I never saw him before with a helmet until this film.

I will say Apocalypse looks good in the trailers for the most part. But he does look odd in still photos, that awesome Hamlet-ish poster notwithstanding. I will agree with those who suggest a gray makeup design would have helped a great deal.

It does look more "pronounced" in still pics agreed but looks much better in live action and not so obvious.

I like the helmet. And it helps to make Oscar's head look bigger.

Apoc has a big block head in the comics and cartoons - and most times in the comics, he has the helmet on.

If you look at Google images for Apocalypse, he has the helmet on a lot. I really don't see the issue with it, to be honest.

It looks absolutely fine here

Love that moment from the trailer in the (hot gay) factory in Poland.

I'm fearing Apocalypse will be killed off, like Sebastian Shaw, Stryker, Phoenix in X3 and the Silver Samurai. But, I'm hoping they'll keep Oscar Isaac around. Question is, where do you go with this character after a massive worldwide destruction movie?

It probably depends on how nuanced he'll be portrayed, leaving things to be explored in future installments. That's what makes Magneto and Mystique coming back. I don't see Fox/Singer doing the "über big bad" movie again with Apocalypse. It would be a bit repetitive. Of course he could have other different schemes, like the 12 storyline or something.

he looks like He-man's "Man-E-Faces"

This is still a horrible X-men Apocalypse....i just can't!
I know right? He totally looks like this character from some old 90s kids cartoon I used to watch...

Oh wait...:whatever:

That looks more like Juggernaut than Apocalypse.

He dosent look like that in the slightest I know you were trying to make a joke but it flopped. He looks very close to how he did in a mix between comics/cartoons

This Apocalypse looks a lot like Archangel from the Dark Angel Saga, which I'm happy with because it's a cool design. And the point there was to make Angel look more like Apocalypse anyway.
