People want Psylocke in X-Force so she can be a developed character.

Shocking that X-Men fans would want that with a popular X-Men...

It's crazy but wouldn't continuity lead to characters having more time to be fleshed out. Without marvels approach to continuity (I'm liking this word) the characters are not fleshed out enough to carry Avengers or Civil War. It would be BVS all over again.

I'm fine with Singer/Fox fans and BvS/DC fans not liking Civil War and being jealous of it's success but the blatant falsehoods about the film are starting to annoy me.

I agree. But it also depends on the intent of the filmmaker. Most of us assumed right when she was announced that Singer would use her as a mute villain.

Having a developed role in another property would at least help her be done justice. This series is such a headache with continuity that I would take a contrived effort to get her in the present over nothing. She's a great character and strong X-Force presence.

Y'all still singing that same tune of "fans of one film is jealous of another film's success"?

Or put it like this, he bit off a lot more than he could chew. He went full-on ambitious with this one.

Did he succeed 100%? Nope, but I give him some credit for getting out of his comfort zone.
Same here. I like the new direction and things will hopefully come together with stronger films that also go more towards the comics.

Yeah, I hate how Singer...or marketing makes a big deal of new mutants being put into the movie just to have them be furniture. Why even use Bishop at all!!!! You could replace Psylocke and Storm with random horsemen.

I mean you see these amazing posters of your favorite characters and it's all disappointment.

Exactly, it's a cheap tactic that is getting all too familiar.

And that's a problem with something like X-Men where there are so many, not just fan but GA favorites that if you try to squeeze them all in some have to suffer when making it to the big screen

I don't know who suffered in Civil War and that had a silly amount of characters with many more planned for Infinity War. You just have to focus on a few for the story and the others just need a few good moments, not excessive screen time. It's a tough skill but those guys know how to handle it and it's possible with X-Men too.

I said it before, people who write off CW as another silly fun Marvel movie only paid attention to the airport fight.

Well maybe pull a Marvel Studios. Have a Main X-film focus on Jean and Scott one film and maybe Beast and Storm in another. You could have Scott and Wolverine in the Savage lands. The X-men have sooooo many stories there is no need to focus on just a few for 3 movies while letting the rest be cutouts. Change the perspective around each movie and keep the continuity and eventually you have a team everyone cares about and ready to take on the Shiar!

Very true.

unlike the anti-singer crowd despite my misgivings on the MCU SPider-man i gave civil war a good review.Age of ultron, Civil war isn't

maybe some vocal comic book nerds on the internet...and look what a horrible horrible movie came out of it because FOX listened wrongfully to this group!!

The general audience loved Singer's approach for 16 years. If it ain't broke don't fix it. "Days of Future Past" is such a beloved movie how can the filmmakers/studio be so dumb to accept a dumb, dull, pointless and heartless destruction porn script like the one we got?!

X-Men: Apocalypse is like the anti-Singer movie and of course it did not work: critical fail, commercial fail, and only 25 fans in this forum enjoyed it. WELL DONE, FOX!

even Marvel started to ground their movies again...isn't it ironic that "Captain America: Civil War" was so successful with a recycled X-Men plot??!?!

Those same people that wanted CGI have also always said that Singer doesn't know how to do action scenes and they also want singer/kinberg out. Singer/Kinberg need to go, they constantly mention king arthur and star wars. smh they dont give a rats ass about Xmen they need to go direct start wars or whatever the hell he's into.

My only issue with Civil War was the Bucky character. Who cares about that guy?

Ask his fan girls. :cwink:

I thought Bucky was an underdeveloped character but CW did a good job making us see things from his perspective and make us feel sorry for him.

Most of the X-Men don't have a network of support characters and villains outside of the X-family. That's why I don't think the majority of them are suited to non-team films. There are exceptions like Storm and Wolverine, but most of them also have powers that don't work well outside of a team (unlike heroes who are designed for that).

i heard Singer said in an interview he couldn't stand to be away from the Xmen movie, overall he seem to really relate to his caracters and the overall idea. I dont think he "does'nt give a rats ass about xmen" but i don't know him personnaly soo

Pulling this back on track, what is this film's ceiling based on current performance domestically and internationally?

Just imagine a stand-alone "Beast" movie that is an hour and forty-five minutes and is given the same budget as either "The Wolverine" or "Ant-Man".
