I like this choice. Don't know Isaac all too well, but I'll study up before 2016!

In addition, just watched this interview:

It's funny that they joke about his small stature and he's going to play Apocalypse. Still I don't mind. I like this guy.

Yeah, as others have said, interesting and unexpected choice. Really curious to see what they do with him.

I like him but not sure I see him as Apocalypse just yet. I guess he isnt as well known which means there is more chance to manipulate his voice or physical body.

Maybe he'll wear a muscle suit that's further enhanced by CG -- kind of like Michael Shannon's Zod in MoS.

They could pull a bit of a Xerxes to make his height more impressive.

Don't really know him. But good to get our first bit of casting. I trust Singer.

Wow, this is huge for Oscar! I enjoyed his work in Sucker Punch. I hope he does well as En Sabah Nur! :applaud

Great actor. Not sure about him as Apocalypse. Hopefly they do go with CGI and motion capture for at least half the role

I hope they use CGI and camera tricks to make him appear smaller.

That'd really mess with y'alls heads.

People please relax Oscar will do FANTASTIC. What is it with Bryan and Fox and pulling these actors right before they really make it big? He has been around for a good amount of time but only now is starting to get the attention he deserves. And to add to that his new movie with Jessica Chastain is getting a good amount of Academy Award buzz with him in the leading role. Just like with Hugh, Halle, Jennifer, Michael, James, Ellen etc they do the X-Men movies before really making it big. Smart casting choice and hope it continues with the other characters in Apocalypse. :)

Well I can't complain about this casting. Elba may have been better but i don't know, I wasn't sold on him either.

Not sure if I trust FOX at all. With the way The Phoenix and Galactus was done I'm not holding my breath for Apocalypse being done justice. He's to unrealistic looking. They can't use his connection at all with the Celestials. Probably to silly for Singer to use anyway. Isaacs is short. I guess they could motion capture him but I don't see them doing that.

Great actor, hot and sexy. Yes please mr.singer. :D

I'm not altogether happy with this. Apocalypse always came across as black to me and I kind of feel like this is blackface.

At the same time, Apocalypse at the end of DOFP looked a bit more Arab since he's still Egyptian so it gets a pass from me. I'd just rather have seen somebody who's a bit darker in the role but it'll be mo-capped since even with steroids, few people are able to reach the extreme bodybuilder physique needed so w/e.

He's been depicted as Black and a person of middle eastern decent in the comics. I know cause I've read them. His story has also been tweaked plenty of times. I don't know what we are going to get with FOX and Singer. This tiny man as Apocalypse?

Can't apocalypse like change his size? Moot point really.

Says the person who recommended an 18 year old extra play Apocalypse.

Some people are thinking he'll be Mister Sinister instead....

Singer basically confirmed it though

I'm not worried at all tbh, they are going for quality actors.

I've never had a problem with Singer's casting of main X-villains. McKellen's Magneto has been the best, most dynamic Marvel villain to date, as far as I'm concerned. Cox was an excellent bastard as Stryker. And Dinklage's Trask was good, too.

Yea, I think the X-Men franchise hits it out of the park when it comes to creating compelling villains. Magneto, Stryker, Sebastian Shaw and to a lesser extent, Trask have all been pretty good villains.

The only one I think they really dropped the ball with was Phoenix in X3. Hell, I even liked Viper in The Wolverine. At least it was a nice change up to have female villain for once.

Agreed, younger stryker in dofp was spot on as a younger version too.

Very neat. I've only seen a little of his work, but from what I've seen of him, he should be great as Apocalypse. He definitely seems to have the skill needed to pull off a heavyweight role like this.
