Wow. Unexpected, but a great pickup for Apocalypse. For a larger than life character like En Sabah Nur I don't think there is a way for us to just see an actor and think 'Yep, that's Apocalypse', but I'm excited to see what Singer and co. have in mind for him.

His stock is definitely on the rise. I like how Fox tends to pick actors who are really up and coming, it pays off for sequels.

I like that all the three that were in consideration points to an intelligent and cunning; all the actors has shined in such roles.

Isaac as Apocalypse feels exciting, knowing he is a great actor while not being able to easily guess what kind of performance to get from him as Apocalypse. Unlike Elba who, while also a qualified actor, I could kinda imagine how he would sound and act as the character.

Edit: Ok, I had him confused with Jason Issacs. So I know zero about this guy. But the trailer to A Most Violent Year is terrific so at least there's that.

HELL YEAH! Isaac is an awesome actor and Apocalypse is my favorite X-Men villain. Can't wait to see this.

Not sure how I feel about this casting.

Isaac is a great actor for sure but he just doesn't have the type of grandiose, larger-than-life, megalomaniac personality that I think suits Apocalypse. I understand he's a great actor and all but the voice doesn't really match up that well either. This is not the type of villain I imagined him playing. While Apocalypse is cunning, a lot of his character is about power and I just don't get that feel from Isaac.

Nonetheless there could've been worse choices like anyone of the meatheads that people often fancast him as. Pedro Pascal would've been badass though that is for certain.
