David has never looked more like Superman here than any other photos I've seen of him.

I watched a video of David talk while being interviewed at Cinemacon, and his voice sounds so much like Tim Daly’s Superman from Superman: TAS.

Filming has begun on Mr. Irrelevant according to several reports in Australia. Football stadiums in Melbourne are doubling for the U.S. One report says they'll be filming till late June. They'll also be filming in NJ.

Good to hear. Really interested to see how that movie turns out. Kinda strange that it’s being filmed in Australia. I know movies are rarely shot in the locations they supposedly take place but it just seems a bit odd to make a movie about something like U.S. football in Australia.

No weirder to me than a lot of Reeves’ Batman being shot in Glasgow, Scotland. Tax incentives and costs are all paramount, aesthetics can always be manufactured or altered to make it look like anywhere

Sure but you’re taking about a fictional city with Gotham so you can kinda shoot it wherever you want. I’m not sure how well Australia doubles for New York and New Jersey, even with the various things you can do to try and make it look that way.

Just a heads up we don't live like crocodile Dundee. No matter how many of our movies make us seem that way. We have cities and most of our culture has become americanised sadly. So we might not be new York, but we certainly have big cities that can disguise locations if executed right.

Weren’t the original Matrix trilogy all filmed in Australia? None of the outdoor street shots (particularly in the first film) looked any different from any major US city.

LOL I know that. My apologies if I made it sound that way. I was referring to how movie studios sometimes seem to think every city looks alike. If you only watched Marvel movies and had never been the the US, you would probably think every US city looks like Atlanta.

People really need to watch Real Housewives of Melbourne and Real Housewives of Sydney. Get educated.

AP interview with Corenswet:

Read the whole thing, but excerpts about Clark/Superman:
“Superman is a square and David is a square,” Gunn said. “He listens to American Songbook. Like Dean Martin and Cole Porter. That’s what he listens to on his iPad. That’s weird. But oh, so Superman.”
“He’s a public facing character, he’s a symbol,” Corenswet said. “There’s a presentational element to it, because he does want to present an image of calm and authority. While he doesn’t always feel that way, he always wants to make other people feel that way as Superman.”
Gunn has promised that the film is “a personal journey for Superman that’s entirely new.” He’s a character who is “pretty damn good, but flawed.” And anyone who has seen the trailer knows there will be romance with Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane — but there’s even a different spin on that.

“He’s in love with her,” Gunn said. “She’s the one that needs the convincing in the relationship. It’s not him. You really see where he needs her in his life.”

One of my favorite parts of the trailer is this subtle node to the scene in Superman: The Movie after Lois's interview when Christopher Reeve transitions from Clark to Superman. David's first words are a playful, high pitched "Yeah" and "Sure" but then suddenly...

He's PERFECT! 😁

That is spot on.
Glad there's a notable difference between Clark & Superman - not just a pair of glasses

Noticed that too and immediately loved it. He's sitting back, very jovial and relaxed but then leans forward, gazes more intensely, voice deepens a bit and you can just see that more authoritative Superman persona coming through.

Lois Lane has got Lana Lang in a headlock... But wait here come Lori Lemaris with the chair!

I'm pretty sure she can morph her tail into legs when she's on land.
