Once again we have fanboys calling critics biased, there's even a petition about closing Rotten Tomatoes because of the low scores on BvS and Suicide Squad.
I'm really sick of this fanboy behavior no matter what camp it's from. Marvel vs DC? Playstation vs Xbox? It's poisoning the Internet with crap.
I haven't seen Suicide Squad yet, so I can't tell whether it's a good or bad film to me. However, as someone who's not a huge fan of DC characters (mostly because I don't know enough about them to be honest) but who loves Batman, likes Superman and loves most of their animated films and more, I'd demand the best. Like with Spider-Man: Homecoming, I'm very nervous because I want the best depiction of Spider-Man and his world that I wouldn't settle for anything mediocre or less. I won't say "I'll love this movie no matter what because I love Spider-Man!".
Another stupid reasoning is "It's made for the fans!". Well, that's just a lazy mindset. A film can be great for both fans and for those not knowing much about the characters. Just look at Nolan's Batman films, Iron Man, Civil War and other great comic book films. If a film doesn't properly introduce the characters and give them good motivations, or the plot is bad, because "it's a comic book film!", then it's simply bad. That's why I always dislike when amateur reviewers say things like "It's a 6/10 film, but an 8/10 comic book film!". To me, it can only work the other way around, like "It's a great film but not really a Spider-Man film".
End of rant.
