Paramount acquires Friday the 13th film rights, Friday the 13th 2 on the way!

I never found any of the characters of the original franchise boring or unlikeable (or at least not the majority of them). I found the characters in the remake WORST than any of the ones from the original franchise. It's like they took all of the most boring and unlikeable characters from the original franchise, made them even more dull and/or unlikeable, and put them all in one movie.

i just assumed that he performed maintenance on boilers; a boilermaker.

I don't know why you'd quote my comment on the characters from Friday The 13th, then comment on our discussion about Freddy Krueger's occupation, but anyway. . .

As I said, they never specifically mention where Freddy worked. However there are two semi-canonical sources which strongly insinuate Freddy drove an ice cream truck. Now whether this was his full time job, just something he did on weekends, or if it was simply a lure to allow him to prey on little children is never mentioned.

They should have left the child molester part ambiguous like the original and embraced the child killer bit.

Should've just been both.

I would've rathered it be where the cops continued to find the mutilated and sexually abused bodies of their children over a, lets say, 10 year span. They suspect Krueger, but can never nail him.

And when they were finally able to get evidence to prove it was Krueger, some of the cops and townfolk take the law into their own hands.

This

I'd say its looking more likely to be found footage if that's who they're looking at to direct. How it wirks for Friday the 13th I don't know.

I just hope Derek Mears is brought back

I'm excited to see Jason again on the big screen. Been about 5 years now.

I actually liked the remake, but it did drag at times. 6.5/10

The VHS films pretty much suck but most the people involved have done good work elsewhere so I try not to use it against them.

Well I came up with a found footage concept for a Friday The 13th film that could work if handled correctly.

They could also do a semi-found footage film, like Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon (which I really enjoyed).

I agree with you on hoping for Derek Mears to return as Jason. He was the best thing about the remake. Everything else about it SUCKED .

Yeah I think I remember that, wasn't it not fully found footage though?

I loved the reboot myself, but hey each to their own.

I thought I was the only one that thought VHS sucked.

My idea was for the "found footage" to be from three different sources. Kinda like what was done with Blair Witch, but extended on. By this I mean, in The Blair Witch Project, the three protagonists basically had two cameras for their trip. One for making the documentary, the other for their own personal use. Then the movie was cut between the two sets of footage.

My idea was to do sort of the same thing, but add in a third set of clips to help tie it all together. My story was that a team of paranormal investigators were going to the ruins of Camp Crystal Lake to try and determine if they truly are haunted. Joining them are a group of film school students who are shooting a documentary on paranormal investigations for class. Both groups have two sets of cameras. The investigators have cameras for their own personal use, as well as those designed to be used in their work. The film students have their cameras for shooting the documentary, as well as camcorders for their own personal use. This makes the movie like a cross between Paranormal Activity 2, and The Blair Witch Project (both found footage movies I quite enjoyed).

Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon wasn't truly a found footage movie, although it did have some found footage elements to it. So if they don't go with my idea (which I think they should if they're truly set on the FF angle), then this is my second choice of how to go about it.
