Just get Zak Penn to pad out the rest, add in some explosions, and boom we've got a hit.

Over in the Worst TV characters thread, I chose mark brendanawicz as one of the worst TV characters of all time.

That's a good one! I didn't post in that thread because I felt like most people were just picking characters that annoyed them, rather than characters that were poorly developed or badly written -which is how I interpreted 'worst'. Mark was definitely an unremarkable character, easy to see why he was written out of the show.

It's not so much a bad character, as a poorly conceived one. Like Mandy from the West Wing, Mark seemed to be a product of bad committee-driven writing, where someone insisted that "we need a character like x, y and z" in this show, and they shoehorned him in.

My brother is just NOW starting this show after like 5 years of saying it's awesome, the jackass, and he is loving it. Man Brendanawics is soooooo ****ing annoying. I hate his character he is like an unfunny Jim.

Probably the only thing I felt was missing from the season was Orin.

But it's true. Mark was Jim and Ann was Pam, but then the writers figured out how dull a dual comedic straight man couple is in a world where Leslie lists reasons why she shot Ron for she has a vagina.
