Ant-Man Paul Rudd is Ant-Man

Do you guys think they will show Scott Lang's tough side in the movie?

Lang killed a guy who came at him in prison, he almost murders a crazy guy who kidnaps his daughter in the Avengers and he beat Doctor Doom to a pulp in FF.

if they cast someone like Jamie Bell, I would have said yes. but I'm not sure that I could buy Rudd as a tough guy. I expect Douglas' Pym to be the tougher of the two. Rudd seems more capable of playing a rookie with all the right skills but maybe the wrong attitude. but I could be wrong. I've just never seen Rudd play tough. and he's too...nice looking.

Rudd also does too much dancing. That's not tough. Flexible yes, but not tough.

Here's hoping they ignore that entire, largely terrible, run. Because it was, indeed, terrible, and largely predicated on the writer's hatred of Dr Doom.

that run was awesome. and i will always think fondly of the day when Ant-Man made Doom eat dirt.

I'm glad Scott got his revenge but I get the feeling some writer at Marvel will retcon the story because they don't like the idea that Doom got punked by Ant-Man.

yeah, of course. but I will never accept that retcon.

and there was no punking. Doom underestimated someone who had a legitimate reason to attack him and nothing to lose.

Scott was forced to step up his game and used every resource (the Future Foundation, Reed Richards-tech, the Watcher's databanks, Sun Tzu, Julius Caeser, and a tales to astonish-era sorcerer) to force Doom into a man-to-man fight. and, even then, Scott wasn't shown drawing blood. he didn't get to knock Doom out. he just dealt a blow to Doom's ego; showed him that he wasn't untouchable.

the Living Tribunal passed judgment on him. and then, as Doom was about to kill Scott (demonstrating that he hadn't been beaten), Valeria Richards (who is potentially smarter than Doom and Reed) dealt the "killing blow." she mind****ed her uncle doom. so some amateur writer can come along and retcon it. but it'd be overkill. Doom wasn't punked. he was just, for once in his life, faced with a fair fight.

so there's been talk of Maria Hill going to work for Stark Industries. i wonder if Scott Lang will do the same, in the movie-verse. he's going to need employment. i guess that he could work for Van Dyne Industries (if there is such a thing).

I hope he rocks the stache in this.

I could see him looking like that at Rikers Island Penitentiary or in his burglar days. but it would look really weird; under the helmet.

He needs to come out of prison wearing a One Direction T-Shirt.

New Paul Rudd video, he's being pimped out:
