I thought Nolan and Tarantino were the only directors that liked doing the color timing photochemically. Looking back on Inherent Vice's trailer, it does look modern but strangely vintage at the same time thanks to the old-school treatment.

Nice, although I do prefer digital color timing mostly.

Yeah, literally this movie looks like it could've been filmed in the 70's. It's beautiful.

Darn, trailer looks great. Im extremely happy to see Anderson lighten up a bit after his last two films. Looking forward to this even though Im not a fan of Phoenix.

Who was the sexy narrator? Was it Doc's old flame? There's a part where the ex 'shah's interrupting the narrator.

There Will Be Blood and The Master are incredibly hilarious. They are 100% intended to have dark humorous undertones.

yeah, most of PTA's movies have some kind of strong humor element, albeit sometimes a very dark one, but this looks like it will be his most outright funny movie since Punch-Drunk Love. just the trailer alone had me cracking a huge grin. it makes sense, too, since the book is pretty funny in its own right.

I don't care if I'm outing myself regarding my film knowledge, but at the :32 mark I believe that is Belladonna. Yes, that Belladonna.

Who cut this trailer? Is PTA still involved with the trailers? I remember reading something that he likes to cut them. I could be making that up, but this editing here is masterful.

MOTTO PANACAKU MOTTO PANACAKU

He actually didn't cut this one. A credible source tweeted that WB cut the trailer. Great marketing by WB too. This kind of trailer will help bring people in because the film is pretty out there and there is plenty of substance behind the madness.

I can't believe that PTA is only 44. Seriously, he made Boogie Nights in his 20's. Jesus.

And it looks like he's lost a lot of weight.

Crazy to think Boogie Nights went into pre-production when he was twenty-five.

Everything about this trailer is just right. I will be watching this film for sure!

Four children will do that to a guy. PTA is a great multi-tasker, to handle a directing career and fatherhood like that.
