The Mandalorian Pedro Pascal as The Mandalorian

Big ass props to Pascal, Favreau, and Filoni for what they've done with this character.

To have a central character hidden under armor and a helmet through the entire story. It's rare to have that with a genre show like this. It always angers me when they constantly unmask the characters in superhero or comic book movies. IMHO these are important parts about the character's iconography.

Pascal gets the performance through just using subtle body language and movement and his voice. He totally nails it.

Yeah Pascal is great in this role so far. Very likable and and surprisingly more human than I was expecting which I am really digging honestly. His performance really does shine through all that armor he's wearing.

There is an article on Pedro Pascal on the front page of the site.
His character name is Din Jarren.

Pascal was super solid. A badass but relatable in his reactions. Things like getting attacked by those beasts and his learning curve on how to mount them and being chided by Nolte via ancestor shame made him more than just a stoic gun slinger and the reveal at the end was for sure a pitch perfect look under his mask to the man inside.

Maybe Dyn and am i crazy I'm hearing more like D'jarn.

DJ. Same initials.
I guess you've never seen SW fandom try and connect the most spurious threads between characters to imagine them all related. It's a thing.:funny:

Ha yes, the hacker in the last Star Wars movie... I had forgotten him.

LOL, he wasn’t worth remembering. I don’t hate TLJ by any means but that was such a waste of Benicio del Toro. He didn’t need to be a dark Jedi or anything but he was just a doofus.

This character is so cool and some nice layers are emerging. Pascal’s performance has exactly the right tonal key and his voice is awesome. Excellent performance so far

I still can’t get over the fact that when people heard that Del Toro’s character was called DJ everybody was like DJ= DARK JEDI! LOL!

The one I really heard that was dumb was "He is really an adult Ezra from Rebels"

Like people have already said Pedro is doing a great job of making the character shine through the armor. I was excited when I first heard that he was cast in the lead role and he's living up to the expectations this far.

I'm pretty sure Pedro is just doing the voice over work.

Based on what exactly?

Opposed to this ^ evidence

He's described both the difficulty and actual freedom of acting and emoting through the armor, and what he's doing the type of consistent visual language and mannerism to bring the character to life,
"...a specific body language, ..attention to detail, carrying the weight, all the gear, ....so that it looks like he's been in it for as long as he has."

Based on making star wars, which is a site I trust 100%.

Yes, they have had lot's of legit eyewitness scoops
There was buzz he wasn't there for the first shoot. We are into the third episode now.
Do you have the link citation where they say what you are implying?
Link citation, thanks!

Yeah, 3 episodes in and I’m sorry to say, none of the actual Mando in costume has been Pedro. John Wayne’s Grandson is one of the body doubles though.

And the guy who plays the Heavy Mando is played by the same tall guy he beats up in the snow bar in the opening scene in Chapter 1.

Pascal not actually playing the role is kinda disappointing
