Dorian stays young and beautiful ( physically ) while his portrait changes and reflects all the vile and bad things he does.
Some random thoughts:

Oh Vanessa. Why must you open that book?! Am I the only one underwhelmed by the reason the book was opened and the timing of it? Like, if she wanted revenge, couldn't she have opened the book immediately after Joan was killed? Why just now? Also, that guy is a friggin' human. He could be easily killed without the book. No need to open that book for that. Anyway, it should be interesting how Ethan will react once he finds out about Brona/Lily. I thought it was nice that he mentioned her.
Girl wants to rule the world and she just made Caliban her b**ch. Oh Viktor. You have no idea what kind of hurt awaits you.

Caliban seems to be different from Proteus and Lily. It seems like he is a classic creation, who is made up from a bunch of different people. Or that is at least how I take it.
I just want to see Sembene and Ethan tear those witches up, mayne. Those two will make a lethal duo and Nessa using her spells to battle as well.
Lyle better survive this season.
He doesn't seem to have memories of a past life like the other two, and generally seems more ghoulish in appearance. So yeah, I'd say he's probably like the book version: a creature made from the pieces of several different men, which might also explain his strength.

This show is going to be the death of me.
Sembene!!! NOOOOO!!!! And Lyle too!
Sembene can't be dead, right?!
That bit at the beginning with Vanessa & Ethan was a bit odd to me.
Also, this is one of those episodes where I felt bad for both Caliban and Viktor. The Vanessa/Viktor scene was beautiful.![]()

There's just too much foreshadowing with him finally giving his background, the whole "you are my friend" speech to Ethan, etc. I'm guessing his death will be a catalyst for Ethan's Maybe supers can detect other supers. It is a little disappointing that it seems like Lily is shopping for a guy to take over the world with her. If she's all over Dorian I guess she's leaving John Claire in the dust. I'm not liking this in her.The more I think about it, the more convinced I am thatSembene is really gone.![]()

manpainnext arc. My only hope right now is if maybe he turns to a werewolf too or maybe Viktor will revive him. He's an "expert" in the bringing the dead back after all.
ETA:
How the heck did Brona/Lily knew (or had a feeling) about Dorian's "secret"?
I know. I kinda miss her now.I also find it interesting how sinister she has become. Brona, from what we've seen in S1, was kind and not mean spirited at all.

You are underrating it. By a lot. I am really hoping that after her talk with Ethan last night, she will somehow survive this season. Though considering what she did, I am 50-50.Hecate kissing Vanessa was hnnngh.
Same with his reaction to Hecate showing up. Ethan was like a teen boy getting caught multiple times last night.I laughed so hard at Ethan's response in this scene.
