Iron Man Pepper Potts Has Been Cast!

This officially kills any interest I had in the film. She is an extremely overrated bland actress who I greatly dislike.

I find this attitude sad really. For example, I hate, hate with a passion Jude Law, but I can still enjoy Road to Perdition.

I dunno what to think of IM myself, cuz I only saw Favreau´s Zathura and wasn´t exactly blown away by it, and I´m not Paltrow´s biggest fan either. But from all his statements, he seems to have his heart and mind in the right place, and I have to say Downey Jr was an interesting and bold choice. One of the writers worked on Children Of Men, so that seems like a good sign too. I call things as I see them, but I try to keep a positive attitude, if you begin disliking the movie from the start - unless you get really terrible signs -, you´re very unlikely to like it when you see it.

I'm becoming really positive about the movie, myself. I mean, I was as skeptic as anyone after Favreau (after FF and X3, I was becoming quite pessimistic about Marvel movies), but ever since then, he seems to be doing everything right. Casting quality, oscar-nominated/winning actors, really great suit designs, a great writing team... Obviously, it's too early to say anything definitive, but I think the productions going just about as good as it possibly could.

I'm not trying to be a negitive nelly but I just can't stand her, I actively avoid movies that she plays in. I'm not saying that I won't ever watch a movie that she's in (Because lets face it, if she was in say..Spidey 3 I'd still be there with bells on) and I'm not saying that she is the worse actress ever but I certainly believe that she is the most overrated and false. Awful choice, I'm very disappointed. I absolutely loved the supercool and brilliant casting of Downey Jr. & Howard but Paltrow is really a letdown.

Yeah i know when i read the news i was like Gwenth Paltrow? So that's two marvel roles Rachel McAdams Lost. I would have prefered her for this role but oh well.

Adding Oscar level talent is always a good thing. I can't believe anyone is complaining about this remarkable coup for Marvel. Having an actress with her talent play the part of the spunky secretary is amazing. She's attractive and the right age to play the foil to Downey's Stark.

Alright, i´m coming to the idea that i´m one of the few realistic guys in this all forum....
The casting so far is great, i love Paltrow, but, then what?
The script might be awful, the directing could be pathetic, the movie can very well be the next Batman & Robin, which had Clooney (one the finnest actors today), Thurman and The Gobernor, and the movie was ridiculous to the say the least.
I´m not saying that it will, but to call that Iron Man is going to be the greatest comic book since BB, just because of the casting....c´mon....

All in all, let´s hope it´s a great movie, because it as the cast for it.

Damn, like Robert Downy Jr's casting, this came from left out field.

The great thing is that this film has alot more credibility.
Iron Man already stars 3 Academy Award winning/nominated actors, which clearly shows the quality that these actors can achieve. (Hell, bring on more) With great direction, this film is on the verge of becoming one of the best superhero films.

With all of this happening, my main man from Marvel will get a great movie and start on a franchise.

Don't judge performance on quality of the movie.
For example, I dislike X3, but Hugh Jackman and Ian McKellen were still incredible as Wolverine and Magneto, respectively.

Certainly not someone I was thinking of (like Downey), but she's a good actress, and certainly a name to attach to a rather B-level project like Iron Man.
