I said Marvel is being very smart with this movie. Never said it was gonna be the best thing since sliced bread.

I'll say it then. In the new low carb century, the Iron Man movie will be better then sliced bread.

I believe it's in the $125 million range.

This is great news! Paltrow is a GREAT actress. Lot's of sincerity. I just hope the writers give her some beefy dialogue. Don't wanna waste all that talent like Connelly in Hulk.

I'm not excited about the news. Yes, Paltrow is a decent actress, but I'm sure to her, this is a paycheck movie, plain and simple. I can see it now. In a few years, if she should make a movie where she's being nominated for an award, she'll talk about how she had a dry spell for a few years and had to do an awful comic book movie. She's done similar interviews in the past about her other recent work. So I'm hesitant if she'll actually commit to the role.

Great casting, this movie has more going for it now. Great actress and so far the cast seems to only get better.

However I don't see what the big deal is. There have been plenty of comic book films with bigger and better star power.

Well they have all been for the bigger well known comic book characters. I mean no offense to Iron Man but he is no Superman or Batman. I am really surprised that it is getting this much star power I am glad this character is getting respect.

Well Favreau now has an A-List property, a solid budget, and great actors. As far as the writing he hasn't let us down with a single one of his films yet. They've all been good...however now he has material that appeals to a huge audience to go with it.

Well, I'm excited by the talent brought on board, but, I've seen extremley talent laiden movies before completely flop, so, I hope they have a script that can hold up.
Now, the question is, who will play Mandarin, the central Villian, do you go unknown or get a big name star like Chow Yung Fat or Ken Watanabe.

They've casted well-known, respected actor so far. It would make sense to do the same for the primary villain. Chow Yun Fat would fit that profile and is Chinese, unlike Watanabe.

I don't have a problem with Paltrow being cast as Pepper. To be honest, I have only seen one of her films and bits and pieces of the others. But I can see this working.
