not excited about this at all. as someone who doesn't know about the books, this looks too much like Harry Potter...and Sean Bean's armor is atrocious (very cheap and uninspired). on top of that, i hope this movie fails just so Logan Lerman stands a better chance at being Spidey...haha

He could do both. I don't think Percy Jackson failing would help his prospects anyways. I haven't seen the young cats from Eragon, Terabithia, and Compass blowing up the big screen.

Ever since Raimi combined Gwen and MJ, I've just accepted adaptations for what they were. I'll let the reviews and my eyeballs decide if the writer/director's choices are better than the source material.
