Percy Jackson and The Olympians : The Lightning Thief

I actually wanna see this, looks action-packed, just hope the story's good (I'm thinking Harry Potter quality)

are any fans of the books on here, does anyone know what audience they were/are geared towards?

It opens againt's Wolfman and i worry about both film canceling out the others BO. Good new is both should finally knocked Avatar from its perch if From Paris with Love cannot.

EH I don't think Wolfman and Percy attracts the same audience. The Wolfman is Rated R and a Horror Movie which means kids would have to get their parents to go see it with them. SO I think the 2 can both hold their own in the box office.

The books are aimed at 9-12 year olds, but I've seen many fans that got into them as adults. It's got fun characterizations.

Rosario Dawson said last night on Jimmy Fallon that she's read the books.

If this had been PG-13, I think I may have went to see it. but PG films scare me...they tend to be a little TOO kiddy.

Same age group as Harry Potter I suppose, but the potter books can be enjoyed by adults. This is not to say adults can't enjoy Percy Jackson but you can plainly see they're not in any way geared towards them.

LMAO. I imagined a conversation in my head.

"Rape and murder in a R-rated film I can handle, but poop and fart jokes..nah."

There was a woman who looked about 40 reading it on the train the other night.

I would have slapped the book out her hands and yelled,"SERGIO." Then bailed off the train.

THE INCREDIBLES and the STAR WARS films, proves that PG rated films aren't all that "kiddy".

Damn how Rattings have changed back in the Day Gremlins was Rated PG.

There are some recent adult films out there rated PG.

during Star Wars time PG was a little different.
And The Incredibles was rare...a PG film that's actually geared more towards adults than kids.

But for this one...the core characters are all "kids". which makes a big difference to me.

Is this gonna be any good for Titans looks more watchible. I'll check it out for like these fantasy type themed films. But just wondered if anyone's gonna see this.

if lerman had been confirmed as peter parker I think the PJ movie would definately have seen a boost in ticket sales as some spidey fans would want to check him out

The reviews I've seen said it's entertaining fun. It's so different from Titans they are in a different universe.

I have two feelings about this? One, it's going to flop big. Two, it's going to make a considerable amount of money. It could go either way.
