On a side note, I heard that in NA,
the new head of SHIELD ripped Pete's mask off and forced him to recall the events of House of M.
I guess that isn't going away. Maybe that'll be used to drive a wedge between Pete & MJ. I don't collect the comic anymore, though, so I could be off on that.
You got that first part right. If they wanted me to really hate the new head of Sheild, they did a good job. I wanted to pinch her head off.

I hadn't considered that it could be a wedge... hmmm, that would really suck if MJ found out. I hate stories based on RIDICULOUS premises. Peter's whole H of M "dream" world didn't ring true... it wasn't sad, it was just disturbing, and I would rather forget it.

I'm hoping that if anything, the H of M could be used to restore Peter's secret ID. The scary thing is, they can use it to recreate realities... and could try to distroy the marriage that way. :(

You're a bloody moron if you read that any other way.

So, I'm a bloody moron now. I see. Right, because I think a ficitional character isn't another fictional characters sidekick. Right. I'm the bloody moron.

Bit of an understatement, no?

They didn't do a couple of bad story arcs with Spider-man. They have done the worst Spider-man stories ever.

People bark on about how the Clone Saga was bad, that was a good idea executed badly. Sins Past and The Other were just BAD stories, that didn't really need telling.

I can go on and on about how bad they were and for what reasons but THAT'S been done to death, Spidey being a IM's *****is nothing compared to what should be being said.

Then to you they were the worst Spider-Man stories ever. I think that there are worse Spider-Man stories than Sins Past, maybe not some parts of The Other, but definitely Sins Past. At least Sins Past had great artwork and was written well for what the idea was, albeit a really dumb idea.

I really don't think that's only my opinion. There have been some terrible Spidey stories in the past, but I cannot recall any that went this far against the character of Spidey and what he stands for.

I fail to see how you fail to see this. Sins Past did have great artwork, but that didn't save what was done to the characters in those issues. I have said The Other is the worst Spider-man story ever written. I would be so bold to say that Sins Past is the second.

Just think about it for a moment. It's really not that obscure.

He has become Iron Man's sidekick. How can you not see that? He goes where IM tells him to go, he does what IM tells him to do, and he calls him "boss". Sorry, man, but that sounds alot like a sidekick to me.

I wasn't completely sure that those were criteria for "sidekick" status.

That just sounds to me like Peter is someone's employee.

Which, I think people are mixing sidekick with employee. Yeah, if I really hated what was going on with Spider-Man and was really that passionate about disliking two human beings, JMS and Joe Quesada, who don't know that I even exist in this world...yeah, I guess I'd be spouting off that he was Tony Stark's sidekick.

But I'm not upset and I don't hold grudges against JMS and Quesada. And I'm thinking of the larger picture. Yeah, of course a Spider-Man/Peter Parker fan isn't going to enjoy seeing him play second fiddle to another character, especially in his flagship title. But, to me, that's kind of the point...is it not? To get the reader to dislike Tony Stark and be on Spidey's side? Because that's what I see them doing. Because not every comic book reader goes on the Internet and reads previews/spoilers and creator interviews. Some people are just casual readers. Gotta give some reasons for the readers to dislike Tony Stark, especially when Pete sticks the new suit back up Tony's butthole.

But, hey, you can keep refering to him as Stark's sidekick but that's not what it is. Just sounds like a lot of upset Spider-Man fans, which is the norm these days.

If you want me to say that Sins Past was one of the worst Spider-Man stories ever you're going to be waiting until the day you or I die. I don't think that. There is about 44 years of Spider-Man comic books that have been printed....trust me....I've read a lot worse than Sins Past.

If you want me to sit down and list the storylines, single issues, and one-shots that have sucked it up a hell of a lot worse than Sins Past, I'll happily do it. But it'll take me a few hours as I'll have to sift through my back issues.

Wow!

You think you are THAT important that you have to confirm that SP was one of the worst Spidey stories ever. I have news for you, I really don't give two s***s what you think. In the grand scheme of things you have no affect on the choices or decisions I make on my views in comic books.

I don't expect you to list anything that could be worse then SP, because I know what is worse then SP and that's one story...ONE story and that's it....wanna know what it is???

The Other.

That's the only story I deem worse then SP, the only one.

Um, no it's not that important. Most posters on these boards want proof and I offered it. Sorry for offering you proof of what I think is worse than Sins past. Sheesh.

I'm not trying to change your mind. I'm just telling you that I THINK there are worse Spider-man stories than Sins Past. THAT'S IT!! I'm not telling you to love the story, make love to it at night, or put it up on your mantle and bow to it. I'm just telling you that, albeit a really dumb idea, it wasn't horribly written.

You disagree.

Well, that's life.

You really need to stop apologising for things.

And what's this thing you have with sexual pleasing over comics at night??? This is the second time you have mentioned something like this.

It's not just about what dialogue a writer uses, it's the story itself, the understanding of a character (which obviously JMS has none of) and even the actions of the characters.

I'm being sarcastic when I apologize, you know. Because you're getting worked up simply because I said that I think Sins Past isn't the worst Spider-Man story. What am I going to apologize for? Because you're completely unhinged and can't realize that Spider-Man is a ficitional character and not a rea life person?

You were being sarcastic??? Really? I really never would have guessed that unless you had so kindly pointed that out to me.

I am unhinged because I find Sins Past to be one of the worst Spider-man stories ever??? Well that's a new one on me. I don't mind being called unhinged if I collected body parts and made them into my personal slaves for sexual pleasure, I don't mind being call unhinged if I wrote messages to celebrities using my body hair. I don't think I have ever been called unhinged for disliking a story...ah well, it takes all sorts I suppose.

What you have to realise is when a character has been around for 40+ years, they develop a personality of some sorts. Characters usually need them to make a story interesting. So when a writer comes on board and changes the character so it makes their job much easier whilst also causing it to change from everything they were ever percieved to be, fans are going to be pissed.

Fans from all types of genres of fiction, be it books, movies, television shows, soap operas and comic books. They take a lot of this stuff seriously. Sometimes they take it too seriously, yes. But why not? It's not hurting anyone.

Now you don't dislike SP as much as myself or practically every other Spidey fan in the world.....whatever.

I was saying your unhinged because you seem to have this notion that Spider-Man/Peter Parker is a real life person or something. Has nothing to do with you enjoying or not enjoying a storyline.

And yes, people taking COMIC BOOKS too seriously is hurting people. It's hurting people who just want to discuss the damn comics and they can't because there are people who have to constantly be up your ass because you don't share the same OPINION.

All I said was that I didn't think Sins Past was the worst story in the Spider-Man mythos or his history. I offered PROOF! You didn't want it. Yet we're going back and forth because you think EVERYBODY should think Sins Past is the most horrible Spider-Man story. Doesn't work that way.

I liked the last sentence of your post, it's what I've been trying to say since the beginning. Sheesh.

Because I think a character has a personality, then I think he's a real person? Do you know anything about the world of fiction??? I would suggest you don't.

So the character in the story doesn't have an affect on whether you like that story or not??? The whole reason Spider-man is as successful as he is, is because people liked the character.

Wow, you actually know nothing.

I don't think I know everything about everything. But I do know you don't know s**t when it comes to fiction. You have just proved this in the last few posts you have made.

I get you didn't hate SP, we all get that. But you have just shown that we cannot take your opinion seriously as you seem to have no clue at all as to what fiction is and what it's about.

Just sounds to me like your mad. I know plenty about fiction. Once again, I don't take it as seriously as you do. But I guess accusing people of not knowing fiction and dismissing their opinions simply because they don't agree with you is the way YOU work.

So, my opinion means nothing because I don't think Sins Past in the worst Spider-Man story in it's history? Right. That makes SO MUCH SENSE!

I have not once made reference to your psychological state in the last few posts.

I find it odd that you have to diminish my psychological state in order to make your opinion more valid. That's not mad, that's egotistical....but whatever.

I am not dismissing your opinion because it differs from mine. I have had a difference of opinion with many a poster on these boards and get along fine with them.

But you have said in the previous posts, that it doesn't matter about characters to make a story good. That characters personalities don't matter at all.

To me and almost anyone with a brain cell, that's wrong.

So once again, I don't dismiss your opinions as that's the way I work, I dismiss them because they are stupid. It's as simple as that.

:)

I didn't say anything about your psychological state. I just said you seemed unhinged. I didn't realize that by saying the word "unhinged" that it meant you had psychological problems.

I'm not making ANYTHING more valid. I said, I don't think Sins Past is the worst Spider-Man story in history. You say it's the second behind The Other. Ok. Fine. Never said anything was wrong with that.

I offered you proof of what I think is worse than Sins Past. You didn't want any proof because you were all mad and upset because I don't think Sins Past is the worst story in Spider-Man's history.

And we're going back and forth about nothing now. All because you can't wrap your brain around the fact that not everybody thought Sins Past was the worst Spider-Man story.

I'm not saying that Sins Past is GOOD. I'm just saying it's not the worst Spider-Man story. So, yes, you are unhinged if you're getting upset that another person shares a differing opinion than you. And if you don't want proof. Then what else do you want from me?

You're saying Sins Past is the second worst story in Spider-Man history.

I'm saying that it's not the worst story in Spider-Man history.

I've offered you proof.

You don't want it.

Where in this do I think I'm right?

You seem to be the one who is hellbent on me saying that I should think Sins Past is the worst story. But, hey, I know nothing about fiction and about characterization simply because I disagree with you. Yeah, I'm a laugh riot.

To say someone is unhinged is not implying as to their psychological state?

Once again, you have impressed me with your lack of knowledge on everything.

I am not upset or mad, I am perfectly happy right now. Your opinion (as I have stated before) doesn't mean anything to me.

You're right up there with pencil led a single grain of rice as to the impact you make in my choices as a comic book fan.

I don't have to say anything else, because in the last few posts you have made things perfectly clear and what you constitute to make a good story. I think you have embarrased yourself enough.

Wel you are a laugh riot, but not for the reasons you have selectivley stated.

Of course me saying you know nothing about fiction because you disagree with me could seem degrading of some sort.

I am not saying it because of that, I am saying it because of what you have said about characters over the last few posts.

If you wish to think it's because you disagree with me, fine. I will let you live in this deluded bubble of yours.

I don't have a premade list. I told you it'd take me a couple hours to sift through my back issues and get some of the issue numbers back into my memory.

Suddenly you want my opinion on the matter though? I thought that I didn't know anything about ficition or characters, according to you. I mean why bother if my opinion means nothing to you anyway?
