The first time I saw the fourth one I thought it was alright. A year or so later it was on tv and decided to give it a watch. It was awful on my second viewing. I really started to see the flaws.

The fourth movie is just horrible, but I do have higher hopes for this new movie.

I remember one of the only things I really liked about the 4th film was the mermaids when they attacked. That was cool.

I think the mermaids were the only redeeming quality about the 4th movie. I liked Blackbeard but I think Ian McShane and that character were totally wasted on the material. Could have been an EPIC baddie, but was completely forgettable.

I forgot but who is going to be the villain this time around?

On Stranger Tides' biggest sin is being a pretty boring movie despite some great concepts. I mean we had Ian McShane as Blackbeard, Penelope Cruz as a love interest, mermaids, the Fountain of Youth, and what was supposed to be a more intimate story for Jack Sparrow. On paper, it was a slam dunk. But Ian McShane was given almost next to nothing to work with, the leads that replaced Bloom and Knightley were excruciatingly bland, and the story itself was fairly weak and seemed to move at a snail's pace. The bar for these movies was never particular high, but at least the first three were fun. On Stranger Tides was a chore to get through.

I'm still looking forward to this film, but I honestly think the best course of action would've been to use this film as a soft reboot and move on from Jack Sparrow. Or at least make him a supporting character again. There is so much untapped potential with pirates and nautical folklore in general that I don't think they need to keep themselves shackled go that character. I guess we will have to see if this was the right decision for the franchise.

And Broseph, the villain is Javier Bardem as Captain Salazar. Hopefully they don't waste him.

Couldn't agree more.

Wow... Much, much better than I expected!

This movie just moved up on my anticipation list for 2017.

Kinda surprised that there was no footage of Jack in this. I'm guessing more footage in December with Rogue One and that this teaser was just to get people's attention that the movie was coming out.

My biggest take away from that trailer is that FRICKIN HANS ZIMMER ISNT DOING THE SCORE???? ********.
Okay maybe the new guy isnt that bad, lets see...Geoff Zanelli....ok, doesnt sound familiar, maybe he's done good stu--
>Hitman, Mortdecai, Gamer, Scorpion King 2

Wow, just wow, you couldnt even bother AT LEAST bringing back Klaus Badelt?
Sigh, whatever...

I'm actually glad that we didn't see Jack. I dunno why but for a first teaser I like what they did here by not showing Jack in person. Just the wanted poster and mention of his name was enough for me. But damn, this looks pretty awesome so far. Looks better than Stranger Tides.

Agreed. It really wet my appetite.

Also, Orlando Bloom's name's not in the credits at the end. Hope this doesn't mean Will's appearance isn't just a cameo....

Kinda stupid not to at least put a glimpse of Jack in the trailer

Gotta say, that teaser sold me more than anything from the "On Stranger Tides" trailers. I'm actually pretty hyped up now.

Meh, strange that they didn't show any footage of the franchise main character.

Could be a strategy by Disney given Depps rather public recent incidents. Obviously, eventually they will have to feature him but maybe they want more time to be removed from it.

Damn. Salazar needs to cut back on the chewing tobacco.
