i will admit this is my guilty pleasure franchise i will watch any they make

there fun,entertaining,funny,action packed,adventurous good time

yeah i m a Guilty One Too they can make another 5 or 10 i will watch them all Too , but to be Honest i Think Javier Bardem as Captain Salazar is the most Badass Looking Villain so far

I wonder if parents/toy companies will complain about the black stuff coming out of Captain Salazar's mouth? :o

The score in this teaser is also pretty awesome.

Looks pretty neat i have to say.
I like the POTC series in general, didnt thought the last one was that bad.
I didnt like the way they handeled a character like Blackbeard, but otherwise it was good.

This Teaser makes me want more pirate movies...a pirate horror movie would be sweet.
But give me more Pirates in general.

For some reason, Bardem reminds me of Jacob Marley from A Christmas Carol.

I don't get it.

In 1992 Tim Burton's Batman Returns had a lot of controversy for the black gue coming out of the Penguin's mouth. McDonalds and toy companies had problems with sales of the kid's menues and toys for the film. It was too dark (and disgusting) for kid's toys.

This is the referance.

It's nothing but a bit of black licorice.

Yes, licorice.

I see Ciaran Hinds + Bootstrap Bill, minus some of the barnacles.

For some reason, Bardem reminds me of Jacob Marley from A Christmas Carol.

I think at least one animated Christmas Carol adaptation used a water effect on Marley to convey an "otherworldly" air to the character. And that is what Sallazzar and his men most hearken to; something that absolutely doesn't belong on the surface. The cursed pirates were animated bodies that simply seemed to follow the laws of physics with an animated corpse, Davy Jones and his crew were half-human mutations that still followed some biological mechanics, and the zombies were just ugly make-up jobs. Sallazzar has his hair blown around by an unnatural wind of ocean current, his whole body moves as though plowing through water, and his men hearken back to the idea of a ghost displaying the cause of its death.

All the other baddies have kind of blended in with the fantastic world around them, in a way that fits fantasy more than pure horror. Which makes sense, as all of them were empowered by some external force like heathen gods or voodoo magic. Sallazzar and his boys very emphatically don't belong in this world, matching the idea that they effected their own escape.

Awesome teaser, loved the way Salazars hair was like he walking under water.

Any guess at how much this film will gross? A lot of people seem to be expecting it to drop in a major way like Alice 2 did. While the internet seems to hate this franchise, i barely know anyone personaly who does so too. While these films are droping domesticaly, it seems like they're gotten stronger worldwide. If i'm not mistaken, the last one did very well in China. My guess is that this will make around 700 milliong - 1 billion if it's bad, but might get as far as 1.5 billion if it's good.

I figure it'll do well.

But man, that new kid in the trailer was pretty ****ing bad. :funny:

You got that from one line? Oh who am I kidding, he's probably going to be bad in it, but he'd just be following in the tradition of the franchise's "bland secondary young good-looking character" after Orlando Bloom and Reverend Hunger Games from the last one. :o

:lmao:

What was so bad about the kid?

I also like the mood of the teaser. I hope the movie does decently, so they make a few more movies.

Anyone complaining about the young man in the trailer are being silly. He had a word and his involvement was looking wigged out. He did fine.
