Damn fine trailer. Really hyped for this!
I don't think this will live up to the first, but I definitely think it can be better than the second and third.
I like that one normal looking dude in the trailer who's face you see a few times. He seems to be the "straight man."

Yep. When those two kept popping up it completely ruined the trailer cuz that's what I was thinking the whole time.I'm still cautious, but the trailer did look interesting.
Were those some Will and Elizabeth wannabes I spotted?
"There should be a Captain in there somewhere."
And hot mermaids.![]()
But it looks like fun, light entertainment that just might work. If only we could pretend the third Pirates never happened, but then we couldn't explain how Jack came back from the dead, would we?Too bad, I guess.
Actually I think the girl that Will 2.0 was trying to "rescue" was one of the mermaids. Could be wrong though. I think it's misdirection on the trailer's part.
You mean save money.i meant more tone.
the reason they dont have a lot of CGI inside is that Bruckheimer is smart to safe money. its not that he wants to make it like the first. he wants to safe money.
That's actually completely what I expect. In the shot where she's trapped she seems naked, and I think there's a shot of her kissing him and pulling him underwater. I can't explain the shot of her with a shirt on, but I'm still convinced she's a mermaid, or some sort of hybrid. If that's the case then Will 2.0 still might try to get it on with a mermaid. I doubt they got a pretty boy so they would avoid another lovey dovey romance. And no, I don't think Jack's thing with Penelope Cruz would satisfy that requirement.
