Pixar's Inside Out

Of the past five Pixar films, three have been part of a series, and we've got another Toy Story, Finding _____, Incredibles and Cars movie each on the way. It's just as much a Pixar thing as it is Dreamworks.

Pixar has 4 sequels. In less of a time span DWA made 9 sequels. It's isn't the same...yet.

Why do I suspect a teenage boy's mind would bump the rating up a few notches...

Looks like classic Pixar, though.

This is the first thing I thought of when I saw this trailer, Disney's WWII propaganda film.

Reason and Emotion

This cartoon is where Lasseter got the idea for the the movie Cars.

This cartoon inspired UP.

The Little House

Woody in Toy Story is inspired by Howdy Doody.

The story for A Bugs Life is inspired by the Seven Samurai > The Magnificent Seven > The Three Amigos

In the Three Amigos they are actors like the bugs are in A Bugs Life, recruited resulting in a misunderstanding all to take down the town's looters.

I wonder if Ben and Me inspired Jan Pinkava for his idea for Ratatouille. A mouse behind the greatness that was Benjamin Franklin.

The Incredibles was inspired by The Fantastic Four.

Oops wait wrong trailer wait a second.

Okay, never mind. I misread and there was a Super Bowl spot and I mistook the old trailer for it as the link saying there's a new trailer from the Super Bowl linked to that for some reason. My bad.

New trailer:

From some Oscar pundits:

hearing #InsideOut is a return to form for Pixar. Can't wait to see it.

David Poland @DavidPoland
Got an absolute rave about Inside Out from an 18-yr-old female who went to a test screening last week. Tears in 5 min

I really like the new trailer.

And I really like "Joy" and "Sadness".

New trailer was great! The movie looks really fun.

This looks like Pixar's about to get back on track, I can't wait. :woot:

The movie looks great despite the trailers not grabbing me.

The last trailer didn't grab you? I think it is great. In a week where I saw fantastic trailers for AoU and Tommorrowland, Inside Out might have my favorite.

This does look really, really good.

Don't let the Boston song fool you. This has MORAL DECAY written all over it. :o

Well Pixar has already cornered the market on animated films guaranteed to make adults cry their eyes out in public. So why not make a movie about actual feelings, just drop all the pretense.

PG for mild thematic elements and some action.

A swedish site has already a review. They gave it 5 out of 5 and thought it was Pixar's best movie in a long time. Personally, though, I tend to agree and disagree just as often with the site's reviewers. :)

Yeah, this is getting stellar reviews. I've heard it be called "Pixar's Spirited Away" if you're into hyperbole and all that.

Looking forward to it.

I'm looking forward to this one. Pixar hasn't knocked it out of the park for me since Toy Story 3. I liked Brave, but it just wasn't on the same level as Up, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, etc. I'm anticipating a return to form for them.

I think I will end up liking this movie but I really dislike most of the character designs for the emotions.

I find it very... odd that the emotions are gendered.

Neat concept though. I'm always rooting for Pixar.

Yeah, I think this one will have a lot more depth that Pixar is known for.
