Photo Sharing Coming to PlayStation Home

Greetings, Homies. Fasten your seatbelts, because we have the most exciting news to hit PlayStation Home since Open Beta! We know you loyal Home fans have been asking for media sharing since the get-go, and we’re very happy to tell you that the first stage is here!

Photo sharing, the first feature to support user-generated content, is finally coming to PlayStation Home! Starting today, Thursday, June 4th, you’ll be able to purchase picture frames in the Mall, upload photos from your hard drive or select from a gallery of default pictures, and then display them in your personal apartments. So if you’ve got photos from your latest game tournament that you want to share, all you have to do is upload them, choose the angle and size options for display, and then invite your friends back to your Home pad for your viewing party. Awesome!

But that’s not all! As usual, we have more exciting content updates coming today, including the highly-anticipated launch of the brand-new Buzz! game space. Get ready to strain your brain and freak your mind with this fast-paced, interactive quiz game. You’ll have to work with your friends and fellow community members to answer the questions lickety-split (hint: some organized sprinting may be necessary). Join the Home Community Management team in the Buzz! Space throughout the day where we’ll be challenging you to a game or three. Be sure to visit the MyBuzz website to discover what it takes to get your own quizzes into the Buzz! game space for future challenges.

When you need a break from thinking, be sure to visit the Mall for some retail therapy. It will be packing brand-new Ghostbusters costumes, designer duds for dandified men and women, and still more Street Fighter IV costumes.

Last but not least…word on the street is that everyone’s favorite ARG, Xi, will be revealing new spaces, ornaments, and mini-games.. Keep on playing, because it’s not over til the last butterfly flutters.

Wait, you have to BUY the picture frames?!

Low Sony, low.

I saw that to. They could at least offer a free, plain looking one.

Guardian, you're showing Sony that you think its acceptable to pay for a virtual thing to hang in a virtual home. Don't do it dude.

Guardian already sealed that deal when he bought Lair ;)

I really wish they'd bring back the voice chat in Home. It felt so much more alive and immersive when it was first launched but I kind of lost intersest once they muted it. I dont really care for the limited voice features that are in it now. I think think they should have it like it was in the beginning

Come on dude, do you really think my act of defiance or even 1000 people's act of defiance is gonna make the least bit of difference to a multi billion dollar corporation, come on dude wakeup and smell the homeless,:oldrazz::D it's not gonna happen, hell they probably wouldn't even notice us!!!:o:oldrazz::D

HOW DARE YOU!!! Me and the other guy who actually bought the game thought it was a masterpiece,:o I mean what other game could frustrate you so much that it makes you want to kill the only other person on the planet that owns the game, it's genius I tell you GENIUS!!!:oldrazz::D

LOL, Oh the horror, my wallet is crying lol,:oldrazz::D come on dude that's a happy meal at Mcdonalds lol!!!:o:oldrazz::D

Yeah...but what toy is inside the happy meal? I mean if it's some plastic bratz doll deal then hell no, but a tiny transformer made out of 2 blobs of plastic in a nearly unrecognizable shape that transform by folding them in half? Sign me up, Home picture frames be damned!

Seriously...at .99 cents I might actually be tempted to buy a frame. Especially if you could put how many ever you wanted in your room with any pic on your hard drive. $2.99 tho? That's $1 shy of a LBP add on, and half the price of a PS1 classic.

Tho in the picture frames defense, I think most ppl would get far more out of it than the equally overpriced chairs and tables they put in home. "$2.99 for a black version of the free white chair you gave everyone in Home? Awesome!".

So while the US gets flooded with Cole costumes a few of us in Europe have got our hands on these:

So I've actually been spending quite a lot of time in Home recently, because the idea of having a space filled with game items that I've earned (or loonytoon/kingman has very kindly earned for me anyways) is something that appeals to me. I've got a cool space now... its just a Visari tall chair with an echochrome statue, all 4 Resident Evil figurines, the treausre chest and an Autobot statue. I wanna earn some more of these things too, by doing stuff like beating the infamous mini game (although getting on the all time leader board is gonna be impossible now), and finding out how to get that Everybody's Golf trophy.

I also like the Home Spaces, though it bothers me that the EU hasn't seen the wealth of them that the US has, we still lack Siren, Guitar Hero, Warhawk, Uncharted spaces and a few more. But they're fun to play around in.

What still holds me back from calling Home a good service however, is paying for stuff. Like a new apartment, or costumes. I can understand some things, perhaps original T-shirts etc, but why make me pay to wear Helghast clothing? Its paying to advertise Sony's own game. Stuff like that really bugs me.

But from now on, I'll definately be spending more time in Home trying to earn stuff. It still has a long way to go, trophy rooms, free content sharing, more spaces etc, but it has also come a long way since the embarrasing launch last year.

Trophy rooms would probably be the best addition to Home right now, but to give it credit, it has come a long way from when the open beta initially launched.

Just a FYI.

Dear PlayStation Home Community Members:

As many of you are already aware, there are members of our community who are requesting your PSN identification and password to grant select items in Home.

We would like to remind you that the Home staff will never ask you for your password, or any other personal information in Home. The members of the community doing so are participating in activities that violate our terms of service. This is wrong, illegal, and most definitely NOT OK, and we will be handling these offenses accordingly.

Please be assured that we know who has done what. We know that many of you who participated in this are also some of our most dedicated and enthusiastic Home users and might not have been fully aware of the ramifications of your actions. That said, appropriate actions will be taken against individuals violating our terms of use.

Are there really people out there stupid enough to give out their info over the interwebs to complete strangers? Incredible.
