Homecoming Please don't reboot Spider-Man again

The reboot will gain interest from Raimi fans, MCU fans and people who were disappointed in ASM2.

That's alot of people.

I understand that some peoole hate reboots but ASM2 disappointing left Sony little choice.

For God's sake.

Think about the better advantage you'd have if you use Andrew Garfield in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. People are tired of reboots. Had I known that in the future that they were going to reboot Spider-Man again, I would not have gone to see The Amazing Spider-Man in 2012, because now you're treating this new franchise like it was nothing when we were all expecting a fresh start from you as promised. Now you're effing rebooting it again? My advise, just use Andrew Garfield. There's no sense debuting Spider-Man this way in Cap 3, and then make another solo origin film like he's a secondary character. I mean, he's effing Spider-Man.

Don't reboot Spider-Man again, please. Use Andrew Garfield, and Cap 3 will be even more successful. It's going to feel awkward when you bring Spider-Man in, but make him a new guy.

Don't reboot Spider-Man, please, or else fans are just going to lose faith in you guys again.

Saw a news article about a new Spider-Man and all the comments were like "not another reboot" and "not another new guy the current in is fine" and so on

So what? When people hear "Spider-Man" and "reboot" in the same sentence, it brings them back to TASM1. They imagine yet another origin story. People won't care as long as they don't re-tell the origin and make the next movie a GOOD MOVIE.

So is talking about the F4 rights being somewhere other than where they are.

That pointless thread was allowed for like a year so this should be allowed also
One of these things is not like the other.

The "Keep Hop Alive" FF thread was just that. Keeping hope alive that the FF and its associated properties could someday revert to Marvel. Whether that occurred via the current film production falling apart (clearly not the case), or the film bombing post-release (ala Ghost Rider 2) and rights hastily reverting (a very minor possibility in my mind) or the sequel not coming together and time expiring after a 7 year wait (somewhat plausible) or whatever is completely beside the point.

Theoretically, I'm of the opinion that that particular thread should have remained open. In practice, I can understand why the mods made that decision since things were getting a little nasty after the trailer dropped.

This is an entirely different issue though. Spider-Man will be, or more accurately, is being rebooted. It's a done deal.

Bond is getting film #23 soon. Spider-Man can afford to have film #6. The primary reason people were against the 2012 reboot is because it was just re-telling the origin story shown only 10 years prior and it was clear Sony was making it just to retain the film rights. The situation here is different: although this is technically a "reboot", it is allowing for Spider-Man to be a part of the beloved MCU and we are not getting another origin story rehash.

While I did like Garfield in the role (especially since Maguire was so un-Parker-like in his movies), a reboot is inevitable. Garfield is getting old and has all but destroyed his relationship with Sony. I like the TASM movies in general, but they aren`t really compatible with the MCU as a whole.

A new cast is a necessity.

Are people going to complain about James Bond when Daniel Craig leaves? "Oh no, do we need another James Bond? Do we need movie #26?"

:o

"I didn't agree with that thread so it was pointless, but I like this one so it's fine"

I completely agree with the OP. Who's to say we won't be getting yet another reboot in the next 10 years? I'm not surprised to see some sarcastic trolls in this thread, since it is cool to hate on ASM and kiss up to MCU's every move.
But I'm trying my best not to judge anything from this upcoming film until I see an actual trailer at the very least.

That's a completely different situation. James Bond films aren't straight up reboots.

TASM2 ruined any chance of that happening, no need for marvel to feel obligated in forcing that crappy universe into the MCU.

Some will. I've seen it when Moore, Dalton, and Brosnan left the role so I don't imagine it will be any different when Craig leaves.

There are no reboots in the MCU, there never will be.

Oh, there will be. Not now, and perhaps not even in 20 years, but eventually there will be one.

Some will. I've seen it when Moore, Dalton, and Brosnan left the role so I don't imagine it will be any different when Craig leaves.

I think the complaining has more to do with who replaces the current Bond. For example, some people dislike Daniel Craig`s Bond because he is drastically different from Pierce Brosnan, not for Craig per se.

Nope. They were complaining before the new guy was even cast.

The complaints dried up in a hurry once The Living Daylights/Goldeneye/Casino Royale came out.
