Whether it's official or not,it still sounds good enough to me - simple, yet poignant & effective
Although the Iron Man comics started off being more political than most comics, the global scale quote does sort of (to me anyway) indicate that he may be working in line with the government to protect the world.
I could be looking too deep into it,but that's just my thoughts on it

heh yeah that's true.

I'll be honest, I NEVER read Ironman as a kid, it's always been a mixture of Spidey, Batman, and x-men. After reading some of the Marvel :Civil War comics, It takes you back and forth, bobbing and weaving between Captain America and Ironman, but I must say.. The artistic work and the attitude of Tony Stark just wants me too see this movie more and more.
