Mystery/Thriller Poker Face - A Rian Johnson Mystery Series

I'm looking forward to more of this. :D

I'm three episodes in, and love this season as much as the first one this far. As someone who watched Columbo as a snotty kid in the the 70s, this show is kinda tailor made for me. It pretty much feels like a modern version with fun nods to the original (Lyonne sometimes even has some mannerisms that reminds of Peter Falk's Columbo), but with it's own concept like her back story and "ability" which makes it fresh.

Lyonne is of course as great here as last season, but I've also highly enjoyed the guest actors. Cynthia Erivo playing several siblings was highly entertaining in first episode, and I loved Esposito's and Rhea Pearlman's performances as well. Trying to remember the last time I saw Katie Holmes. Batman Begins..?

Hopefully the season keeps up (and please writers, that awesome 1969 Plymouth Barracuda better survive this season and potential others, or I will send bombs..).

Btw, I laughed when Pearlman was calling Lyonne a millenial, considering she's born in the late 70s (but yeah, definitely looks younger).

Watched the first episode. Forgot how fun this series is. Now I want a turkey leg. :p

I'm glad it's still getting great reviews. :D I want a third season.

Just watched the new episode, and I gotta say, this is the first time I was kinda rooting against Charlie to solve the crime

They made us feel bad for Simon Rex’s character, the new guy was being a bit of a d*ck (though understandable when you find out your teammates drugged you and threw a bunch of games to bet against the team) and the death was an accident.

Kinda wanted them to get to keep the money. Your career turned into playing for some terrible minor league team. What they did was wrong, but you could still sympathize. At least he wasnt an outright murderer like everyone else she deals with.

That's how I felt about the episode as well. Though to be fair the perp in the previous episode wasn't a murderer either.

I've reacted as well that some of the "murder cases" in recent episodes was more or less accidental. Tbf, which I somtimes also remembered from old Columbo episodes, which this series pay some tributes to. Hence I was glad to see we again got a cold hearted murderer in this last episode lol.
