Poll: Joker vs. Lex Luthor: Who Is Off to a Worse Start?

Who is worse... the DCEU Joker or Lex?

  • The Joker

  • Lex Luthor

  • They're both equally bad

  • I like them both and want to see more of them

I could go into detail myself, or I could just let your great blog post do the talking for me. You saved me having to dig up an old post, and while long, it isn't as lengthy or detailed as that blog post.

Cheers for the compliment, man. But post your own post, too. Another perspective is always great, and I'm really interested in reading it.

Luthor was terrible and the joker was so limited that I'm still excited to see his spin

They had plenty in common too though. They took a lot from the comics and put it into Heaths Joker. They really captured the spirit of the character. I could go into more detail if you want.

That's true; all I'm saying though is that it's possible to go in a different direction and still have it be a very faithful adaptation... even a more faithful adaptation.

This is kind of difficult , lol

On the one side, I've always given much more of a **** about The Joker than I ever did Lex, so ****ing up Joker is a much more grandiose failure , IMO.

But EisenLex is just unbearably annoying, while Letoker is just a teeny bit less annoying.

The joker was completely inline of what was in the comics.
So was Lex "birthright" Luthor.

We are getting more Luthor. By the sounds of things these characters wouldn't start off the way lots know them as but would evolve into what we know and love without so so called origin stories.

DC and Zac have plans for his Luthor to give him a second go ground.

I also think with the perfectionist Leto is. He will want to improve and further develop his Joker.

With a small role as the Joker part was in SS. I guarantee you he signed on to play a much bigger role in this evolving DCEU with further films and he would have ideas to change and mold his Joker if it wasn't as he wanted it to be received. He knows he had to follow Jack and Heath's Joker's. It may seem rocky to some but we haven't really seen what he has to offer. Especially against Batman.

So I hope (because I liked what I got) that he gets second and third go rounds for his Joker.

Hopefully the second go around with Lex has him be vaporized by Darkseid.

Or gets pushed through a brick wall at Mach 1 by Superman where we can all discuss whether he is dead or somehow alive.

*Splutter of laughter*. List these comics so I can actively avoid them.

the writer of one of the most influential Lex stories ever took a steamy dump on Eisenberg's Lex, an interpretation that 'supposedly' drew inspiration from Birthright.

If that ain't damning, I don't know what is. Just gotta hope Jesse does better the next go around because he's in it for what seems to be the long haul.

I can't help but laugh at the ****tiness of this situation. They took two of DC's premier villains, characters that will presumably play bigger roles in the DCEU, and decided that these were the ones they were going to take huge creative risks with. And neither paid off.

So now we're stuck with a neurotic, hyperactive spazzoid for Lex Luthor, and a trashy gangbanger Jim Carrey knockoff for the Joker.

I wish these forums had a Like button.

If I am lucky that is the last we ever see of either of them. The Riddler was a more important character in Gotham City Sirens until the last few issues.
So hopefully Riddler will be in the movie instead, with maybe Joker showing up in the last 15 minutes, if at all.

Yeah, I'd like to know which comic has Joker sporting a bunch of lame ass tattoos and grillz and moping over his precious gf who is "crazier than him", who he'll do anything for, and who he's obsessed with waaaay more than he is with Batman, apparently.
