Poor People Are Getting Desperate!

Guy: Do you like my watch?
Me: Yea...it's cool.
Guy: Do you wanna buy it? $20.
Me: No...that's okay.
Guy: How about my t-shirt? Do you like it? $5
Me: Seriously, dude, I'm not buying anything.
Guy: Oh, come on! What about my shoes? I bought it for $60. You can have it for $30.

Call me a jaded cynic, but the first thing that came to my mind when I read this was that the guy might have boxes full of cheap watches, shirts and shoes. By wearing the items and asking people to buy them right off his body, it fosters increased sympathy and people are more likely to buy the junk, or just give him a cash handout.

I could be wrong of course, but it sounds like a gimmick that probably gets the guy more money than just regular begging.

If someone had one watch to sell you would think they wuold go about it more intelligently.
