I have a feeling that TDK is going to end up being the movie which all super hero movies will be judged by in the next 10 years or 20 atleast!

yeah. the public generally reguards batman begins as the best super hero movie ever while critics hold spider man 2 as the best.

Raimi's Spider-Man is more popular than Nolan's Batman so far because it's more brighter and action-packed. I personally prefer Batman more but it can't be denied that the more dynamic and family friendly Spider-Man capture the audiences more than the brooding, darker Batman. Bright Red and Blue is more marketable than Black.

As always, fanboys can speak the other way around and we'll see about the next iteration of both franchises.

thats half true. each of the big 3 super heros-superman first, then batman, and now spiderman-have had their time when every movie they made was instant record breaking hits at the box office, and right now it is spidey's turn. no other real way to explain it cept batman had everything going against it that spidey had going for it.

but it is widely known batman is thought to be the "coolest" of all superheros amongst people 10-25, so dont kid yourselves in popularity. Batman Begins box office failed due to lack of awaresness; if it had SPIDER-MAN type awareness it woudla made a lot more money, and IF the Dark Knight gets SPIDERMAN sized awareness it WILL top 300 million domestically, which would put it inthe league of spiderman and also as the only superhero to do it in 2 seperate franchises.

dont kid yourself. superman is the most famous hero ever, but batmans the most popular. spiderman just owns right now due to the first film was so huge, which is due to novelty factory and lack of super hero movies in general.

This same year X-Men had a great success and broke records. Are not "Spidey times", are times of interesting characters and well done movies. Superman is Rubbish.

But X-Men 3 was succesful and really had neither...
