The Dark Knight The Dark Knight or Spider Man 2?

Dark Knight for me, I'm a Batman fan anyway, Spider-Man is more geared for the zit faced teens.

I love Spider-Man 2, I really do, and it's the best "Non-Nolan Batman" superhero movie. But, The Dark Knight is just on a compleetly different level than anything else in the genre. It is Best Picture worthy, it's so good that at the moment I would put it ahead of the last two best picture winners, and those are two of my favorite films.

Anybody could explain all the things wrong with that statement but both are nearly equally interesting. Batman is just a tad more interesting because he's a powerless human who has endured a hell of a lot & not to mention his gizmos.

I've gotten sick of all the flack Batman has gotten over the years from Spidey fans ("we kick your ass in quality and box office L0L!!!!").

Finally the tides have turned! And the pwning has never felt so good.

As a hardcore Spider-Man fan, I have to say that I'm completely and utterly OVERJOYED that The Dark Knight is getting all of this success and attention. It deserves every bit of it, just like the first two Spider-Man movies did.

There might very well be some whiny Spidey fans out there right now because of TDK breaking Spider-Man 3's opening day record, but they need to shut up.

I know a bloody fantastic movie when I see one, and The Dark Knight is one of them! I'm cheering for it to beat that box office monster, Titanic ... And I'm starting to believe that it might just do that.

Of course, it had everything you want. It had action from beginning to end & nothing was crammed in. Plus, the Joker had the best villain kills to date.

I say the dark knight, because it had action from the get go. It had me at the edge of my seat, Spider Man 2 also had the same action, but I believe was a bit toned down and had spider man just want to give up. Batman had that, but it was more played out. In a way that from the get go he's dealing with emotions but he has to make a choice stop the killing or be a superhero who can't stop it. Spider Man just gave up completely, some kids had to bring him back at Aunt May's Garage sale.

Yep, TDK was a hell of a movie. It'll be hard to top & I don't see that happening for decades.

If anything I would probably compare it to the godfather 2, IMO. I want to know if Nolan will still make the third, because I have yet to see a movie that is great from the first to last movie.

I choose TDK over SM2 and frankly all other superhero movies, and I'll tell you why. We had wonderful character studies on Gordon, Dent, and Batman. Just amazing how well this movie really was crafted, while Spiderman2, it did take Spiderman on an emotional roller coaster, the supporting characters didn't live and breath the same way they do in TDK.

I do enjoy Spiderman2 a whole lot, though. Time has not been kind to Begins. The movie loses focus once it gets back to Gotham, imo.

As for Iron Man, I felt like there were a few internal logical issues that kind of brought it down a notch. The climax didn't feel authentic because he wasn't dealing with terrorists anymore, it was just a silly battle between two Iron Man suits. The characterization makes up for it, though.

I still hold Superman and Superman 2 in special regard. I hope TPTB can revive that franchise.

The Dark Knight. To me, The Dark Knight dared to do something different with the genre it's part of, while Spider-Man 2, while not at all a bad movie, only tried to continue Spidey's story and not much else. The Dark Knight spoke volumes to me, and really delivered an ending that I really didn't expect. The performances, the atmoshpere, everything was just superior to anything else in the genre. While I love Spider-Man 2, I worship The Dark Knight.:brucebat:

'Nuff Said.

The Dark Knight > Spider-Man 2

Batman Begins > Spider-Man 2

I'm a big Spider-Man fan......

.....but a bigger Batfan. :woot:

TDK, Batman Begins, Iron Man, X2, and Superman: The Movie are all better than any of the Spidey movies.

Stole my reply. :)

You know I’ve been trying to unlock the mystery of the mind for quite some time now!
I even find out that our consciousness is made of different layers
Like when your watching a scene there’s actually different layer of your subconscious that’s measuring and processcing what’s unfolding before your eyes and allow you to enjoy it or not
Therefore stimulate the pleasure center of the brain according to the level of your “hormones”

TDK is better according to you because you are very much familiar with the Batman character, because you grew up watching it on TV
So the layers of your “fantasists” subconscious mind are full of Batman characters.

As for me! Let’s see …I think
The layers of my consciousness are made of thousands of characters
It allow me to compare with a wider spectrum whether it’s fictional or “real” historical characters
For instance I like Galactus a lot and I find it a very interesting
It may be because in the Bible (book of revelation) they announce a giant like “humanoid” figure which will dwarf Galactus in comparison
This golden Godlike being will be so immense that with on stride he’ll be able to cross an ocean
(This I can’t wait to see!)
What I meant is… perhaps every time I see Galactus in a comic book it subconsciously remind me of this character I red about years ago in the book of revelation

I just want you to explain next time and in much detail why Batman’s movies make you tick
And don’t give me crap about great acting
Cause The acting is only in the act of the actor
Bwhaha!
