Nah, I think that will be the final scene of the movie. Most of the people who watch these movies don't watch the after credits scene, so Marvel will need to explain how Cap gets into the 21st century somewhere where everyone will see it.

I'm hoping the after credits scene will show the Russians finding Bucky's frozen body or that it shows that Red Skull isn't dead too. Both would be cool.

I want to say that IM2, Hulk, and Thor all sort of happen around the same time. The campus fight in TIH happened around the end of IM2. Coulson got sent to New Mexico during the middle of IM2 as soon as reports of the Mjolnir started coming in. So all three are around the same time.

What we don't know is where the modern bookends of Captain America fit into the timeline.

I always imagined it would be Cap being unfrozen and Fury walks in to debrief him for a bit then introduces the other members of the team behind him. The camera slowly raises up revealing the backs of the other Avengers looking at Cap as he stares back at everyone.

Although this would more likely be an ending to the movie instead of an after-credits, also wouldn't make sense in the context of the other films.

I always hoped that the post credit scene would have involved Banner (Ruffalo now) and him somehow him being asked about the Super Soldier serum.
