The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Post-credits scenes

Did you guys talk about
the mask that is seen during the end credit montage? Seems to confirm Chameleon as part of the S6, as other gimmicks during the montage were Vulture's wings, Ock's tentacles and Goblin's glider. Did I miss anything? Couldn't really make out Rhino's suit.
So is this scene in the movie? What do you mean by end credits montage? Like it strolls while the credits are going through?

No it plays in the background of the credits, you know like in iron man or Avengers.

Hm. Another user said it plays in the movie too though?

Thats because you asked if the scene where TMIS is walking past the chambers is in the movie which it is.

the other guy is referring to the images in the end credits. which is different.

Huh. So no video, but images in the end credits? Clear enough to show what are in the chambers.

According to Variety, it seems like a deal was made between Fox and Sony for Sony to advertise DOFP in the credits for free as payment for Fox allowing Webb out of a contract with them (stemming from 500 Days of Summer) such that he could direct ASM2.

This guys, the DOFP scene was only added because of the reason above. There is no shared universe happening. If it'd happen we'd see a Marvel & Sony universe. FOX would never cooperate.

i fear i'm not making myself understood. in the trailer TMIS walks past the tentacles and the wings the featurette also show he walks past the symbiote

in the actual secne in the movie TMIS is going to see Harry he walsk past tentacles wings and rhino mech suit

I'm so confused right now.

The guy says montage as in images, like the paintings Thor: TDK.

Is that what you meant by montage?

You see an Avengers style credits scene (props from the movie in 3D being shown while the credits roll) and then the DOFP clip starts at the end.

Ah. Thanks for clarifying. :) I can't wait to see it. THIS FRIDAY CAN'T COME FAST ENOUGH!

Crap! I didn't know there was a DOFP trailer at the end. Didn't stay for it :p

From Variety:

Sony, which owns the “Spider-Man” films, is plugging a rival studio’s product, since the seventh “X-Men” sequel is released by Twentieth Century Fox on May 23.

Why would Sony do that?

The reason, Variety has learned, is that “Spider-Man” director Marc Webb had an existing contract with Fox Searchlight to helm another film following 2009′s “500 (Days) of Summer.” After “The Amazing Spider-Man” in 2012, Webb’s negotiations briefly stalled with Sony as he was caught in a tug-of-war with Fox. Eventually, Fox agreed to allow Webb to direct Sony’s “Spider-Man” sequel, but only if Sony would promote its “X-Men” film for free.

I heard of the X-Men: DOFP scene.
Anyway myself, my brother & like 100+ other attendees stayed.
There was not even a mid credit scene at our screening, never mind post credits.
I posted it in Instagram, but my friend said there was.
When we stayed back and nothing happened, people booed.
So to repeat, there was no mid OR post credit scene at the IMAX screening I went to.

The DOFP announcement completes another piece of the puzzle.

Webb said he'd like seeing Spider-Man in the MCU and would do it if he could.
Whedon said he'd like seeing Spider-Man in the MCU and would do it if he could.
Sony is willing to work with other studios.

Just one more piece. :yay:

So maybe Norman's "head" is actually a mask Chameleon wears as was speculated by fans when it was first reported/pic leaked online? That would be cool. Another Norman running around or even another Spider-Man running around. :woot:

You don't need to wait til after the credits to see this scene - Sony already ****ing spoilt it for us with their hundred clips :argh:

Did you not read the variety article?

There isn't an after credits scene outside of the DoFP stuff. Can people stop with this "OMG SONY SPOYLD OL OF DA TINGZ" ****?

Nobody forced you to watch anything. Are you really going to ***** about a huge company overmarketing a blockbuster based on a huge character? They want to get the asses of the masses... in the seats. And it worked, opening day was PACKED here. Sorry, I couldn't make the last bit rhyme. :(

Ah I see. So it really is just a promotional thing. Seems kinda odd. Almost like they want evoke the same effect of the MCU credits stuff while not really using the time to build the overall universe of the story. Guess I'll have to see how it's done, still it helps reinforce the overall Marvel brand and I see no problem with that. Like I've said before, this is Marvel's grand slam year.

So Fox essentially held Webb at ransom until Sony agreed to promote DoFP. Classy as always.
