I think the art was really strange but since it was told from the perspective of the kids I always thought it was meant to be exaggerated. Even so, that picture does suck.

No I liked how kids would make him sound like a demon or cyborg but when they showed the real Batman in the skatepark, it looked like Bruce got locked in the Wayne Manor kitchen for a month.

This is one of those stuff... so crappy, that it's good already!
It's an old school action figure, and yes, the standard were pretty low at that time.
Take a look at how his thumbs got painted yellow over the belt.
