This thread is about bad Spider-Man art and context dude, Deodato is great, I can agree with that, but I don't care if he draws the prettiest peice of **** that ever existed, because at the end of the day its still a peice of ****.

These boards really suck right now. Wherever you go people are moaning about the curent state of spider-man - which i have no problem with in threads dedicated to that. BUT can't you please just put up bad drawings rather than art to bad storylines?
some artists don't deserve to be in threads like this. maybe those pics would be more relevant in a "bad story" thread.

im only asking and you can obviously do what you like. im not having a go at you.

im sick of getting into arguments over this where people take out all their upset on me, but i actually thought the eye-ripping thing was cool art. it was correctly shocking and the body movements etc felt realistic and the iron men thang was a fresh look at spider-man for me. thanks for hearing me out

Well, like I said we're all entitled to our own opinion, however THE WORST Spidey pics does constitute bad ideas, moments and art. I didn't like the eye thing, personally because it was once again another "Shocking" Marvel moment, was extremely graphic for a character like Spidey, not really nessascary for the story arc, and of course the simple fact I knew it was going to retconned to hell, before the arc was over.

And the Iron Spidey, speaks for itself, I never liked the costume, or the useless powers. But that one image I posted has relevance to this thread, because it was the first picture of the new suit. And it was god awful and looked like one of Marvel's electrians had sketched it out, and pretty much ruined any chance that Iron Spidey, could have had.

So thanks for hearing me out dude

Mine's as well. No matter how well it's drawn, everything in The Other and Civil War amounts to manure. Then Marvel wonders why it's young vibrant fanbase has depleted with pics like that in the canon universe. Ugh...

If Alex Ross painted a loving recreation of Superman snapping Lois' neck, it would still suck based on content.

i clearly put my point as plainly as i could. i said i had no problem with people giving their opinion, but please could those people hear me out and consider not doing what they were doing becos i didnt think it was right. but that was just my opinion. if kaine could understand me, even though he doesnt agree with me, then whats your ****ing problem?

i didnt call you dumb, mate. maybe YOU should calm down. i cant see why you have a problem with me having an opinion thats different to yours. i woulda just liked to see some truly awful drawings, like that fan-art iron spidey sketch, not storylines laid out, but as fans i realise this board is going to mean different things to different people.

Oh wow, I have TOTALLY disagree with this, and not just because it's a Lizard cover either. True, the "motion lines" around everyone are overdone, but that was the style of the time.
That exact Romita cover art recently sold for $15,000 in an auction, BTW.

haha i chose it as i kind of hurt my eyes.

romiota is a genius in all manners of thew word....tis just this piece of art struck me as a 'bad' piece of his otherwise brilliant artwork.

GAG. I really HATE this picture!! It makes Peter look like a complete doofus.

And to make matters worse, THAT is the picture that went with the story in Marvel's press releases. Really, what were they thinking!? Baffling... especially because the picture BEFORE this one was so nice.

I took "worst" to mean bad art... or any portrayal of Spider-Man that is sub-par on some level.

I agree, it doesn't really apply to subject matter. Some of my FAVORITE Spider-Man pics came from that infamous issue of Sin's Past...

Here are some that are truely bad, goofy, etc...

MJ should never look like a total hag... and when I find some of the current SSM pics of her, I'm going to add them here too.
