Power Rangers 3.0

All of this nostalgia stuff they're trying to pull with the Samurai Rangers, actually has the opposite effect on me. Seeing Bulk, I'm making sure to stick with the Shinkengers.

^Minor spoiler since your watching Shinkenger but I think Power Ranger's Samurai will adapt this scene with Bulk

I'm fine with Bulk being back. I'm hoping for Skull to show up eventually as well. It would be cool to introduce them to a new generation of kids.

Those two were always funny and had more character development than most Rangers (which is kind of sad when you think about it).

Unfortunately (or not), I don't think Dr Jason Narvy will return since he seems to have retired from film acting instead gone the more academic route what with his PhD in Dramatic Arts.

Also, Bulk (and Skull if he did returned) would like be starting from scratch character-development-wise since they seem to be going with the whole concept of Power Rangers for a new generation. In which case, why not just use new characters with no associated baggage?

You should check out Shinkenger; it's an excellent series. It also feels right seeing five Japanese teenagers/young adults becoming samurai, with traditional Japanese garb, calligraphy, and even the kimono house they live in.

I think the obvious answer is that Saban wants to bring back that MMPR atmosphere, which PR under Disney had drifted away from. They probably feel that the more closely they associate PR Samurai with MMPR, the more fans of the old show will tune into it. That's probably also why they create the new Mega suits for PR Samurai that look disturbingly similar to the MMPR helmet:

Perhaps but there are many ways to approach it. It would be very easy for the show to introduce two characters who serve the same role/function Bulk and Skull did in the original MMPR without actually using the same character(s); much the same way the advertising is making Samurai channel MMPR without actually being MMPR.

Ancient Japan. Power Symbols, passed down from parent to child. And now, none of the current children are japanese. Ok...

Nice to hear that Bulk is back,Skull making some appearances would be neat too!,As for the new show itself.....

I don't have much hopes for it,But I am kinda interested in revisiting this series again,I just can't let go of my childhood I guess But I'll be checking a few episodes and see how it is.

I'm laughing my ass off over that clip. Even if its not Bulk, I'd love to see something like that in the show.

Also Luis, I don't think Bulk is back. We were just speculating over a comedic scene in Shinkenger being translated into Samurai with the character being adapted for Bulk.

The sequence is a similar style of humor to the Bulk/Skull type stuff in Power Rangers. Specifically as the show went on Bulk and Skull became fanboys of the Power Rangers and at their peak they stood up for the Rangers and fought back against the monsters and forces of evil trying to take over the universe.

Are any of the parents former Rangers seen on the shows before??

Oh wait, I just read that Bulk IS actually coming back. Is that true?

Yeah he is,IGN has a scene of Bulk with his nephew!

Luis is that from the new series or was that one of the PSA's from the old one?

I'd like the link if you have it.
