Detailed character bios

THE GO-KAIGER:

Captain Marvelous:
Young Captain of the Kaizoku Sentai. Always sparkling, a "wild man". Desires everything to be stimulating, and is always curious. Once he sets his aims on a target, he moves forward without flinching, no matter what. He is the type to poke his head in where it doesn't belong, and he often brandishes his crew of 4 with unreasonable orders.

Joe Gibken:
A calm man, whose words are few. A compliment from this man is rare, a man with a serious personality who is hard on himself. Always training up his abilities with weapons, and never misses. Has known Marvelous the longest, and as such, he understands Marvelous the best out of the entire crew. He was originally an elite of Zangyaku but after coming into contact with Marvelous, he becomes one of the Kaizoku Sentai.

Luca Millefi:
An active woman who dislikes needing to have a reason to act. Excels in recon and exploration, and has a strong tenacity for treasure hunting, earning her respect from her peers. However, her need to get the treasure often makes her forget the mission in front of her, be that when it comes to the enemies, or her friends.

Don Dockoiyer (Hakase):
A man from a cautious sect that has an alarmist attitude, and always assumes the worst. He is a pacifist who causes trouble because he wants to avoid fighting. However, his quick thinking and rare brain power serves as a compliment to Marvelous' wreckless attitude. Inventions from his calm judgement and clear brain often end up saving the team when they're in trouble.

Aim de Famille:
Former Princess of a certain planet who was picked up by Marvelous in space. Has "Geniality" and "Grace" that doesn't suit a pirate, making her quite different from her 4 shipmates. If a person is in distress, she can't help but want to help them. However, because she is always looking for someone to save, she can be a pain in the neck for her teammates. Also, she loves tea.

GokaiOh:
The Gokaiger's robot they use during giant battles. Combined from Red's Pirate Ship, GokaiGalleon, Blue's airplane, GokaiJet, Yellow's Trailer, GokaiTrailer, Green's Racecar, GokaiRacer, and Pink's submarine, GokaiMarine. Usually, Marvelous and the others live inside GokaiGalleon.

UCHUU TEIKOKU ZANGYAKKU:

Waruzu Giru (Shireikan/Commander):
Young Commander of the Emperor's bloodline. Has an irreverent attitude, always showing his sense of being one of the Elite. Has a desire to get the Emperor to acknowledge him. Thinking the Earth to be a planet he could easily conquer, he lead a giant fleet there. To his allies, let alone his enemies, he shows a cruel nature. He tends to force his ideas on people, and give his subbordinates arbitrary instructions.

Damaras (Sanbouchou/Chief of Staff):
Soldier of Zangyakku who bears the name "Warrior of the Strongest Status." A monsterish warrior with fighting power, he is a battle specialist with a cool head. He is ordered to accompany Waruzu Giru by the Emperor, and assist him as his Assistant Operations Chief of Staff.

Insaan (Kaihatsu Gikan/Development Technical Officer):
Zangyakku's Mad Scientist. Supplies the "Action Forces" with powerful weapons, and remodels them. Using a special energy gun, she can resurrect an "Action Commander" who was defeated, and make them grow giant.

Barizorg (Tokumu Shikan/Specialty Officer):
A Cyborg whose whole body is mechanized, and who is completely loyal to Waruzu Giru. Has an eerie presence, and a systematic sense, and is something of a mystery.

Is it weird that I'm so excited to watch new Power Rangers again? Just feels like a positive start to a new era. And I haven't really sat through and watched a series since Dino Thunder.

I quit after Turbo, once every cast member from MMPR was gone it was "done" in my mind. No one can ever top those 3 seasons of MMPR and the movie...

Yes MMPR was my personal favorite. I did like Zeo for the most part but yes when it did switch to Turbo and the older cast started leaving it didn't feel like the same show to me anymore.

I think this just seems like a good way to jump back on and start fresh.

I'm liking this GoukaiGreen already. :D

It would be hilarious if everyone's bounty gets doubled or tripled during the course of the show, but Green's bounty gets reduced.

Love this photo!

Ninja and Ninja side by side

I hope the battle is longer than 30 seconds. It might even top Kamen Rider Decade's rider war from episode 1

Yeah, I hope Toei learned their lessons from Decade and apply those experiences to make Gokaiger the sentai series to remember. Aside from the two ninjas, I hope the red sentais from Zyuranger and Abaranger will also fight side-by-side, as well as from Dairanger and Gekiranger. :word:

Bulk is back in "Power Ranger's Samurai"

http://tv.ign.com/articles/114/1145326p1.html

with exclusive clip

I've got mixed feelings about seeing Bulk return. Firstly, In Space did a fantastic job of giving Bulk and Skull a send-off and a semblence of character development when they rallied the human population to fight against the alien invaders. Granted, Lost Galaxies detracted it a little but he rarely appeared and in Forever Red, the showmakers managed to reunite Bulk and Skull as well as give them a sort of nice farewell.

Also, it seems obvious to me that Bulk's 'nephew' seems to be some sort of blatant rip-off of Skull.

Those guys stopped being funny a very long time ago. They really didn't need to return.

For those that don't like IGN, here's the clip on youtube

I think Saban is trying their hardest to tie PR Samurai with MMPR, from the theme song to the catchphase "Go Go Samurai!", to the return of Bulk. They are hoping the nostagia will make older fans want to check out this new season of PR.

Seriously Bulk is back ? & without Skull ? Is that kid Skulls son ?

That's what I enjoy about Sentai. Every new season is completely new, not tied to the older season. Except maybe for fun cameos, you don't have returning characters. I think it was probably MMPR's biggest mistake to use the same actors for 3 seasons and even trying to tie all the following season to the old rangers.

I agree. When they started Lost Galaxy it was a near clean slate.

Now with Bulk back, people are bringing up a whole bunch of asinine questions

"How did he get back from Mirinoi?"

"Why is the nephew with Bulk and not Skull?"

A clean slate with a whole bunch of new teens and their own problems was much easier for some people to get into.

On the Gokaiger front, a leak of the theme from the expo has been posted on the internet. I LOVE IT!
