I watched a bit of Samurai today. It was nice to see Bulk again. I liked that they went back to the silliness of the earlier seasons. But, they didn't really bring anything new to the table (a problem the series has had for a long time), so I don't see myself getting hooked.

I nostalgia'd all over my room when I heard the Samurai theme song tonight

My biggest complaint(besides the acting, but that's to be expected) are those zords. Holy moly, they suck haha. The combined megazord is dope though.

The main issue with this first episode is, there's no introduction to who these characters are, besides Mike. No origin, no nothing. I felt like I jumped into a random episode in the middle of the season.

The costumes, zords and weapons are pimp. Loved those. And the theme, oh my, it's great.

I will say I do think the megasuits look good onscreen.

I still hate the look of the Mega suits, and I see it as an opportunity by Saban to sell more merchandises since the new cockpit scenes don't add anything to the story, anyway.

Btw, I think it is a mistake to show an episode that was based on Shinkenger's Act 3 as the very first episode to premiere the new power rangers. I'd imagine many people who saw it have no idea where those rangers came from, how they acquire their powers, and what they were like before they wear the suits. Seems to me it was a decision to air it just to showcase the action scenes at the story & characterization's expense.

Started watching Mystic Force. First episode was pretty good.

One thing I don't understand, and the same thing happened in Wild Force. In the past, warriors with the Power Rangers, power existed, but why didn't they morph into Power Rangers back then?

Main guy is an idiot. He doesn't believe in magic, but yet he clearly saw some **** go down.

Pretty cool seeing the mentor as a Ranger...I know it's been done before, but I didn't see this mentor whipping out a Rangers outfit.

Is it plagiarism if the original creator of the "Power Ranger's" franchise decides to reuse the theme he used 18 years ago when he owned it? No, I don't think so.

Dino Thunder did a better job of drumming up nostalgia. It even got me interested in the franchise again. When DT premiered in 2004, I hadn't watched PR since 1997 when Turbo jumped the shark for me. I re-watched all the old shows and even some newer ones like the over-hyped/overrated In Space. And about two years later I watched the episode of Dino Thunder where the kids are watching the Sentai version of the show and afterwards I immediately went to YouTube and started searching for Sentai videos. I even did a sentai thread for this forum: http://forums.superherohype.com/showthread.php?t=243498. By comparison, Samurai did nothing for me. Based on the first episode, of course. It was just the same old, same old for me.
