Power Rangers 4.0 - Part 1

Sadly, Divatox is one of the few villains I really didn't like. Her outfit, her personality, all of it was just off for me.

Case and point, the episode where she loses her memory and becomes a pizza lady? Really? Yeah...

Trouble by the Slice is one of the best and most hilarious episodes in the franchise, and its disappointing that more people don't recognize that.

^ The Turbo Zords - which are directly connected to the Turbo Keys - were stated to be the most powerful Zords in existence at the time. The Zeo powers themselves may have been continually growing stronger, but the arsenal associated with them was supplanted in strength by an arsenal associated with the Turbo Keys.

Now that I can get behind. I also agree about Justin by the way, he proves himself to be quite useful. He's clever.

^ I've always liked Justin, and was therefore pleasantly surprised to find that the 'disconnect' I thought existed between him and his first set of teammates was basically non-existent in reality.

Also, when fans look at the transition from the Zeo powers to the Turbo Keys and Zords, I'm convinced that they purposefully overlook the two explanations we did get in the film about said Keys and Zords, and I'm at a loss as to explain why. It might be because the overall transition isn't as involved as fans might have wanted it to be or because it happens fairly quickly and with very little ceremony; I really don't know.

There are explanations offered, though, and it therefore doesn't come off as clunkily as I think fans think it did.

I liked Justin, he was one of my favorite Rangers.

DW: To each their own I guess.

The problem I had with Turbo was replacing everyone all at once halfway through. Then they did it again halfway through Power Rangers in Space and after that, they started from scratch with each new season. I just couldn't invest myself in the show with the frequent cast changes. I know that's how they've always done Sentai in Japan but that's not how Power Rangers was for the first three or four seasons.

Why? What's so egregious about that?

What the heck are you talking about? There was no cast change in Power Rangers in Space.

MMPR had three cast changes in Seasons 2 and 3 (Rocky, Adam, and Aisha replacing Jason, Zack, and Trini, Katherine replacing Kimberly, and Tanya replacing Aisha). Why was the cast change in Turbo and the subsequent shift to the 'Sentai model' following PRiS such a big deal for you when, judging from your comments, you don't seem to have had any problems with the cast changes in MMPR?

I apologize for double-posting, but I just finished Stitch Witchery, and I noticed something that I can't quite reconcile: based on the way the Rangers interact with one another and with the Blue Senturion and the way Divatox reacts in attacking them, there seems to have been a fairly significant amount of 'off-screen progression', yet dialogue from Bulk and Skull also seems to indicate that they haven't been invisible for all that long (after not appearing in Passing the Torch). It's not enough to drag down the episode, but did give me a bit of pause.

Yeah. Turbo had problems but Justin wasn't one of them

yes he was. It was incredibly stupid to make a little kid a ranger and then to place so much focus on him. He was irritating and a turn off. One of the main reasons why I barely bothered with Turbo

They were trying to copy what Super Sentai did in Dairanger and Ohranger, the only difference was Super Sentai had success with it, while Saban didn't.

Dairanger: Kiba Ranger

Ohranger: King Ranger

Carrangers was a parody of Super Sentai. I bet Toei was like" Lets do something lame like have the powers be car themed".

Ir was great to see the classic MMPR Green/White Ranger suits. As well as the Zeo Ranger suits in this weeks episode,

Wrong.

You do realize that, as per Turbo, the original Rangers were only a couple of years older - at the time Zordon chose them - as Justin, correct?

I know right?!?!? I just wish it was in a better episode. And the Green Ranger transformation didn't get any attention at all!

I can't wait to see Tommy back in his Green Rangers suit.

Wrong.

you do realize, that Justin was still a kid, correct? There was more than 2 years seperating him and the original rangers. Justin was 11 years old and the rest were teens (~16 in HS). Most were closer to 17-18 by the time Turbo rolled around. Anyways, regardless of his age, he was still an annoying tw-t and making him the star of the show (guess bc they felt the target base would relate) was a major turn off which helped ruin that series for me

Had Jason, Billy, Trini, etc. not left Angel Grove in pursuit of other things, they would have graduated as the Class of 1997 alongside Tommy, Katherine, Adam, and Tanya, making them HS Freshmen (which would mean that, depending on their birthdates, they were between the ages of 13 and 15) at the time Zordon chose them to save the world.

They need to just go air and The Legend War. I'm tired of waiting.

In other countries, the Legend War ill be airing as early as October 3rd, because some channels are just blowing through their SMF runs with everyday new episode, so I figure it'll be online within a day of that date.
