The Dark Knight Pressure on Aaron Eckhart for a great Two-Face Performance?

I'm not worried about AE's performance (and that's because I've never seen one of his movies before).

Nolan has not made a dreadful casting mistake yet, so I feel no need to fear. Like somebody said before, Aaron automatically gives off the "good guy" vibe, so it will be interesting to see how he plays the psycopath part.

Oh, Lord. You should see In the Company of Men, then. Evil.

Not exactly Mr. Nice Guy in Nurse Betty, either, but he's only got a supporting part in that.

honestly if there is a 3rd Batman film for Nolan it might not be able to top TDK

I mean Joker and Batman together on screen is about as good as you can get in a comic book film or any movie for that matter.

If we are proven wrong than woohooo! I just don't know if Aaron Echhart is that great of an actor to pull off an amazing performance.

yeah I agree, the only comic screen precense that can rival Batman and the Joker is....welll Superman and Darkseid...if that ever happens...yeah i mean if you think about, noone's ever pushed the too so far besides Darkseid and the Joker

In either film, I chose don't want the cheesey thing to happen and at critical moment in the climax Batman pleads for the nice side of Harvey to come through and save the day.

Dent seems more about misplaced ideals than all out bad, much like raz (in the movie version of him anyway).

I believe that could be done without being cheesy, more the execution than the concept.

What I'd like is that his pleas only work to the extend of making Harvey flip for it and it lands tails and he shoots someone in the face.

Who here thinks the series would be better off with TDK being the 3rd film and not the 2nd.

I'm not sure how you can top The Joker as a villain. It makes more sense in my mind to keep him for the third installment.

I think the Joker will still be in the Third film, but Two-Face will be the main villain

I agree. I'm pretty sure.....Joker will be in the third film and I also believe Harley Quinn also.

The story will focus more on Batman and Two Face but I think Joker will be there as more a background supporting character with Harley Quinn.... causing more unpredictable chaos. I also think Selina will most likely be introduced.

What possible purpose could selina kyle have in this third film. Harley maybe as she could free Joker from arkham but Catwoman doesn't belong in any of these films

I doubt the Harley Quinn rumors hold any water. At most what may happen is a slight nod to her alias: Dr. Quinzel, as she breaks him out of Arkham, but no more.

Yeah, as much as I love Harley I can't see her fitting into this version (and this Joker) at all. She's cute and funny in the cartoon, but put that in real life and she gets really annoying. A Dr. Quinzel reference would be really nice, but Harley and Nolan just don't go together in anyway that makes sense.

I also hope Joker's not really in the third film. Yes he's the biggest Batvillian and a hard act to follow, but Two-Face is one of the most complex of the Batvillians and could carry a whole film if he's handled well, which I trust Nolan to do.

Oh, and just to add, I think out of all the female characters in the Batverse, excluding Vicki Vale, Selina fits best with Nolan's universe. She's just a catburglar.

True, Selina is the most realistic villainess out there in the Bat universe.

no way...this is jokers movie all the way, in terms of filmmaking and marketing.

If anyone; its on Bale to match Ledger.

according to nolan the main character arc of the dark knight is that of harvey dent/ two face...

nolan has also stated that he is planing the movie like he did with batman begins in that there is no definite nod to another sequel...so...why hasnt twoface been pushed more by the cast or during the promo's? i hope its because they are trying to keep it as the big surprise...but if the movie is based on his character arc, i would really hope that they give him the screentime needed....or he better be fully fleshed out in a possible sequel

Wow, I never heard of Nolan saying Dent/Two-Face is the main arc of TDK. I think the next trailer will have him, hopefully.

And I don't doubt Eckhart's acting capability.

Joker deserves to be the main villian in any movie he's on.

As much as I agree that a Harley Quinn would never work within the Nolan world of Batman...or even alongside Heath's version of Joker.

It would still be kinda cool to see how deranged they could get her to look...the Nancy to his Sid Vicious.

Nolan: Well, we never wanted to do an origin story for the Joker in this film. The arc of the story is much more Harvey Dent's; the Joker is presented as an absolute. It's a very thrilling element in the film, and a very important element, but we wanted to deal with the rise of the Joker not the origin of the Joker, if that makes sense.

im convinced that joker is the main bad guy...no question about that....but if its two faces character arc, i hope hes not on the backburner for the film as far as screentime is concerned...

I had a thought on the Joker's voiceover in start of the trailer. Has anyone thought that maybe he could be talking to Harvey after his scarring. Perhaps he acts like the devil's advocate, and helps him turn.

I hope Two-Face does not appear until the end, kills The Joker with the toss of a coin and holds something against Batman.

Thus setting us up for a third film. Though I do hope there is no real cliff-hanger. Thats what worked about Batman Begins, the ending was genius and well thought out but it did not scream "SEQUEL!" it just screamed "More will come." therefore it could stand on its own as a film and so will TDK, which is better because if we do love it and if it is a great film, we want to love it as its own film not as an extension of other films.

Those are the best films in my opinion.

That being said, yes, there is great pressure on Eckhart, but just as much as there was on Heath when he filled the shoes and definitely Bale, beyond the shadow of the bat.

But I have faith in Aaron and Nolan and co. would not have cast him if he could not prove he was capable.

The question is, will the Joker be killed off in this movie? I think Nolan will try to keep some of the Batman-saves-the-day notions, but we all know that there's still hell out there in Gotham when the film comes to an end.
