I get that shows like these are not the most popular, no matter how well made or great they are. Especially on this network that is predominately manga/anime based. But why is it that they are only ordering 13 episodes at a time?

Has there been an answer to this? I realize that it could be due to monetary concerns, especially at this time- but I know of animated series that have been in 26 episode seasons rather than 13. Was it because it was a first season and they weren't sure of the reception? Will season 3 be 26 episodes in length?

The character models are pretty simple, lending themselves to quicker animation, but I do realize the backgrounds, voice acting, and action all takes time...but I think it's a little dumb to wait 11 months for a fresh batch of 13 episodes.

Why not a full 26 and have the first 13 cover September to late November (as they did) then the next 13 cover December to Valentines Day (which is about what they are doing). But not have a year long lay over.

Then the following season have the first 13 episodes cover February to Easter. And the following 13 cover April to Summer vacation/mid-June. There- in two season we have Peter's Junior year, over 52 episodes.

Follow the same process for his senior year and end the show with him graduating and going to college. Or do a freshmen year (unlikely because of a kids show).

So, again, why is this show, for as excellent as it is, taking so much time to be made...?

Honestly I have no idea

This is a good question for Sarcastic Fan, wherever the heck he's at these days

it was probably about some networks nowadays for animated shows only want 13 episode seasons and or budget reasons.

Well I think the initial 13 were ordered with the original broadcast network (KidsWB) as a trial and they probably would have ordered a lot more if the network had continued to exist since the audience figures were very good.

With no consistent broadcaster (jumping to CWkids mid season) or one that would continue to exist in the future it would have been difficult to obtain consistent funding.

The introduction of Disney as the broadcaster could lead to a more consistent funding stream and production of episodes but I think someone has mentioned that Disney really want to see how the show does on their channel (in effect another trial for the show) before making any commitment or large order.

I really hope that the show does fantastically on that channel!

yea me to i hope they dont go nuts and censor the show up. Besides some adult language here and there i see nothing that needs to be cut out and come out there is other shows out there that have just as much violence and all that in them and they are aired all fine. Crossing fingers disney just airs the episodes straight out with no cuts.

I thought the 13 episode seasons were due to sony not having enough staff the make the show?
