But yeah, either way, the guy standing next to the chair is *definitely* huge....9 feet tall or so.

But here's the thing: *if* that's supposed to be a space jockey, *and/or* a crewman who seems to be evolving into one, that means that space jockeys are definitely human, for all intents and practical purposes.

And maybe that's the whole point of the movie: they went out to space to look for aliens and clues to our own evolution, and found out that the aliens are: ......us.

I actually love the fact that the Space Jockies, or "creator race," are human looking ( if that is indeed the case ).

I find that much more eerie than encountering a "non-human" alien race.

Something tells me that they're both awesome films, and so drastically different from one another in subject matter that it wouldn't make sense to compare them. I wish people would stop trying to fabricate some sort of competition between these two great directors and their movies.

Did I miss the memo where Prometheus has suddenly become the arbitrary nemesis to The Dark Knight Rises? I'm looking forward to both movies more than anything else in 2012. Perhaps the true question is whether or not Marvel should be worried that, in a summer where The Avengers and Amazing Spider-Man are being released, people are talking about The Dark Knight Rises VS Prometheus as the big conflict of summer 2012.

For some reason I feel like I heard this idea before, but I honestly can't remember where.

I don't know if I find it more eerie or not. One thing I loved about Alien was how nothing about the planet, ship or the star beast felt in the least bit human. Being able to process what the Jockey is kind of... tames him for me.

Kind of like, "if it bleeds I can kill it."

I too like the mystery, I have a feeling that will let us have more surprises when the film comes out. Lots of speculation and so forth. I am interested in hearing what Marc is going to do for the score. I hope its some what (DNA style) of Jerry's score on Alien (Even though most of his music was temped/not used lol) But still the score used in Alien was very atmospheric. And I can't wait to hear clips from the new soundtrack.

ah.....I see.

and maybe "native" wasn't the best word to use.

it's just that.......what if the "truth" or our "beginnings" ( as the trailer suggests ) is that humanity started in the test tubes or labs on some distant alien world ( and then we were sent to Earth to populate it ).

and not only that, we're not the "1st" human looking race. we were indeed created in the "image" of another human looking race.

to me, it's kind of expected in alien/sci-fi movies to find alien races/worlds that look.....well........alien........lol.
