Prometheus - Part 2

thsi is impossible to do. we already explained. no studio would allow it

Well, Scott is on record saying he filmed the movie so that he could present an R and PG-13 cut to the studio. Maybe he is a liar, but I doubt it. He found a way to do it. Besides you can take an R film, and make a PG-13 film. Not without ruining the material alot of times, but I assume he made the movie so that a PG-13 could be made out of it without butchering it like happens in most cases.

Why don't we let the man in the business, and in the directors chair decide what is impossible.

yeah i belive him that he filmed some scenes. maybe 5-10 scenes. bu not the whole movie. 10 scenes are nothing in a big blockbuster like this.

for a studio its also a waste of money when they already know the rating.............well fans think that the studio is waiting to make the decision 1 month before the premiere. but this is not how this works.
you know it was also a rumor/lie that Bay and ILM were working on the effects hours before the premiere. and Nolan also didnt edit TDK in june .

Fox knew what rating they would use for the theatrical realese.

I just personally feel that you guys are waaaay too excited for a movie that doesn't have much going for it. I think this will be a letdown. I don't want it to be, but that's the direction I see it taking.

Yes. But they still filmed both scenes. And since Fox fought so hard for Scott to make this movie...it's very possible, also very real that they did it.

Scott didn't want to do this film unless he had a very decent amount of control.

Films do go down to the wire. Attack of the Clones being one example. The digital cut of the film had added effects and the wedding scene showed Anikan's hand moving. They ran out of time to finish the effects and couldn't get it in the film print so only the digital cut which came out after the film print had them. The Two Towers is another film that pushed its post production down to the last minute.

Also, the studios do not know which rating they will get for sure. The MPAA has been known to throw some curveballs. The studio can only guess what the film will get.

ANother thing it only takes 5-10 moments in a film to get an R rating. That means Ridely did in fact shoot all the R scenes twice. One R version and one PG-13 version. What's there to debate here? It is possible and he obviously did it. We will see an R version of this film either in theaters or on home video but we will see it.

A stand-alone science fiction epic set in the Alien universe (the one before Cameron dumbed it down) directed by Ridley Scott in his first sci-fi project since Blade Runner that also has the amazing cast of Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Guy Pearce and Michael Fassbender "doesn't have much going for it?"

I strongly disagree.

It has one of the best directors at the helm, some of the most unique visuals seen in recent film, a classic film (Alien) as a basis, and 2 great actors (Charlize Theron and Michael Fassbender). TOTALLY doesn't have much going for it!

If you think it'll be a let down, that's understandable...but this movie certainly has a lot going for it.

edit: DACrowe beat me to it, hehe

Anyone else think the ending will be...

The crew turning on the beacon to the space jockey ship? Seems pretty obvious judging by the ship crashing in the trailer.

And: it has Charlize Theron doing nude push-ups. AND Noomi Rapace running around in underwear for most of the film.

BEST. MOVIE. EVARRRRRRR.

So I take it that one scene with a guy jumping off a ledge down onto one of the crew is one of the other-worldly beings? Or perhaps a crew member mutated/possessed by something?

Crewmember mutated.

The trailer looks great!!

More Screen caps pleeease!!!

That's one of the best teaser trailers I've seen in a long time.
