Transformers Protoform Crash-landings: Who's Who?

The Jablonsky thread is slowly transforming with this kind of topic, so i thought of starting a thread for it, as this seems to be an interesting mystery to solve..well, it is actually pretty obvious to decipher the autobots in their protoform in the landing scenes, but on second & third viewing (and i have it on bootleg too), and upon reading the posts regarding this topic, i was out of conviction of who actually the proto bots are! ..well, there is logic in the editing of the scenes that suggests who each protoform is, but i realized there are actually other variations..anyways, these might help:

--this is obviously Ratchet, period.

--personally, this is OP for me, since the field might be a few miles from the highway where he scanned the Peterbilt.

--now this is Jazz for me, since the showroom where he scanned the Soltice might be located in the city we see on the background.

--now, the most controversial of them all...it is logical to think that this is Ironhide, since upon hiding from the tree, the scene cuts to him already transformed to the GMC Topkick, with the same tree on the bckground..

Now, others have different analogy, basing it on the bots' height, movement, facial geometry, etc...let's help out solve this mystery (lest Orci & Kurtzman themselves joined this thread and put an end to all theset & let the discussion roll out!

This was one of the best scenes for me. The music they used was just perfect. I also have a bootleg of the movie... well on mp4 format and I watch it over and over... I was also wondering at first who the pool-robot was.. first I thought it was Megatron, when I knew nothing about the movie haha.. I'm glad it was just a protoform

You got the robots listed right, but there's one minor correction I need to make. Ratchet turned into the Hummer and Ironhide turned into a GMC Topkick truck.

Ratchet: Outside some kid's party...
Ironhide: Pool

Just as a side note that scene was the best in the whole film for me. The music combined with them choosing Earth modes and the meeting in the alley was PERFECT!!!

Sort of off topic, but did it seem like after Optimus landed, he felt sort of naked as he ran away from the landing site? He kind of covered himself up and ran away ashamed until he got his truck form. It just truck me as funny.

Optimus Prime landed in the field. Ironhide was the "tooth fairy" who changed into the family Top kick

No doubt about it. The "arrival" scene was all types of great. After championing "The Ark" thing and b*ching about its absense for so long, I couldn't believe I found myself clapping like a little kid when those meteors were entering the atmosphere.

Speaking of this scene...I was just watching it and there's a weird edit I didn't notice before. Sam and Mikaela both run to the nearest of the crash sites, the field with the burning tree and see the ball starting to transform. It's been stated that this is Prime, but then when transformed he runs away from where Sam and Mikaela are. Why would he run away from Bumblebee and the kids? Was he ashamed of being "naked?" The next time we see them they are arriving in the alley with Bumblebee. Like I said, it's a weird little edit and it's probably because they were shooting a loose script.

Yeah, i noticed that too. He was right in the field with BB and the kids, yet drove to meet them later on. They should have already been together.

The whole scene was confusing to me, badly edited, but the music and 'vibe' of the thing just made it the most enjoyable part of the film for me.

I know it's Ironhide getting outta of the pool, but that majestic music that play's when he climbs out...I can see why a lot of people would be confused and think it was Prime...

Yeah, i noticed that too. He was right in the field with BB and the kids, yet drove to meet them later on. They should have already been together.

I noticed that Sam and Mikaela were standing on a little hill, they were looking down at Prime, but when they go to the shot of OP running away, they're no longer on the little hill.

IMO, I think the bot in the pool is optimus. If you watch as the protoform moves behind the tree, he is obviously taller than the house. And if you watch the scene where the autobots are hiding at sams house, and optimus is pressed against the house, he is the only one taller than the roof. I think it is an editing error. Also, Bay stated that optimus is about 30 feet tall while iron hide is only 18 feet tall and the next tallest transformer.

well, who knows, maybe the little girl's house might be less taller than Sam's, so it would still be Ironhide.

That's what I'm thinking. If you pay reeeeaaaal close attention, you can sense that the cuts are made before the scenes truly end, if that makes sense.

Not meaning to be rude but I don't think it is an opinion. Ironhide was the Transformer in the pool, he gets out hides behind the tree and then it cuts to him as the GMC car thing. Prime landed in the field, walked away sneakily and then was next seen on that hill thing as a truck drover past which he scanned.

Optimus...did he make two craters when he landed?

Because Sam and Mikaela went to an empty crater where it showed Prime hit first, and then far away from that one, Prime gets up and starts to run towards the highway.
