Transformers Transformers = Panacea for the 80's Cartoon Revival

i am curious to see how they would pull off a GI joe movie. i just have a hard time picturing it.
Smaller cast. Probably play it off as an elite special ops team within the US military forces rather than a huge military team of several dozen characters.

I agree to an extent.... But if its too small you get a "been there done that" pure military vibe of The Rock or even Aliens (and Transformers?). I'd like to get a sense of the breadth of the team... spies v spies (Scarlett), infiltration sort of stuff (Snake Eyes) as well as the crack commando vibe of the rest of the Joes.

Simply put, I'm thinking a mix of M.I. with The Rock (gasp did I say that? :cwink: ) would be awesome. It would be creatively challenging for whatever filmmaker takes it on.

'Eh, I don't know. There are a ton of "too large" military movies as well.

Here is a photo

Looks like pretty friggin' cool to me, although I never saw Thundercats as a kid, so I'm guessing my opinion doesn't count.

I'll be honest..........with how things are turning up in Iraq, and the possibility of them pulling all the troops out, I can't see the G.I. Joe movie for at least a few more years until things settle down. Everyone loses.

Politicians are all talk. I think that everyone knows that none of our representatives want to take responsibility for the inevitable genocide that will ensue the instant our troops leave. People have accepted that Iraq is a long-term commitment, but what has not been accepted is the lack of clearly defined objectives for the military, and the pathetically low standards that the new Iraqi government is being held to.

In any case, I do not see it directly affecting GI Joe. The movie will get made if people want to watch it, and personally, I want to watch it.

.....G.I. Joe was supposed to come out instead of Transformers.....it was changed to Transformers because of the war.

So?

Mannn-Hell no, when did Lion-O start playin for the other team:cmad:
Get this the Fk out of here!!!

We are living in metrosexual times, man. American is totally *****fied now.

I mean....LOOK AT HIM! He looks like a Tranny.

Not that their is anything wrong with that. :p

I hope not. Let's not get too spoiled, because then the films spoil

A GI Joe movie would be filth, i bet they'd hire Tom Cruise or Brad Pitt

and after that they can do a Barbie movie

There is a Bratz ****e **** youngsters movie coming out. There is no God.

Little change of topic, since we are discussing G.I. Joe.

Who would be good casting for the characters of G.I. Joe.

I just want Michael Beihn (Terminator 1, Hicks from Aliens) involved, cus he is the goddamn man and woulda played Cyclops the best EVER in X-Men. He rocks.

Blame Japan.

Either Ray Park or Tony Jaa as Snake Eyes, and Vin Diesel as Destro.

You are wise. Great casting right there.

Specially the Vin Diesel part. I'm not a fan of his outside of Riddick, but dammit Riddick has the voice and ugly bald head/face that should be covered in metal. Wonder how they will do that effect?
