Where does it say the prices will go down?

Why is this just in the Sony fourm?

Where does it say that there's going to be a price drop?

Come on Zen. You cant drop something like that without at least sometehing to back it up

I think she means that the PS3 isn't selling well.....at all, that pretty much confirms a price drop by the end of the year.

Ouch, those are low numbers. BTW, gameboy advance is still selling?

but that doesnt mean its a confirmed price drop. Sony would never confirm that bc that would ensure that those sales would continue to be even lower until the drop does happen

Zenien either tricked you, or she doesn't have sufficient information yet.

Am I the only one that gets Zenin's line of thinking that the horribly low PS3 figures is pretty much confirmation on a price drop?

^ We get that, but that isn't confirmation. It's good evidence, but when a thread title has "CONFIRMED" in all caps, it should usually have an actual confirmation, which this doesn't.

if i was sony. i would've just taken out blue ray alltogether. and if sony does drop the price howlow shouldit be? im look at a maximum of 500 dollars. 400 bucks would be great. if they drop it to 550, im still not going to get it.

They can't however. First it's one of the main factors in Blu-ray's lead, and two their games are all released on BR. To go back to DVD to release a cheaper player and having BR optional would mean switching back to DVD's for games, and re-releasing every game they've released so far on DVD.

Personally I think they should just bite the bullet and release a $300 version with no bells or whistles, not even a harddrive. Then release their current premium at $450. Their already taking a hit per console, lowering the price just means more sell, and since software is where the money is made they need to get more consoles in homes.

I love SHH! The logic is just mind-blowing

well, considering the ps3 is $5-600, and a gameboy advance is something like $50, that's not hard to believe.

if sony drops prices, nintendo and microsoft will follow suit. everyone will see sales increases, and sony will STILL be last. it's over for sony, for this generation at least, better luck next gen with the PS4 or after sony steals nintendo's ideas, the wiistation.

Nintendo, back on top, the way it should be.

The "It feels like I'm actually sweeping!" Phenomenon of mouth breathers who are buying the Wii on mass and then say "Red Steel Multi player is fun with beer" isn't a demographic that makes Nintendo worthy of being on top.

If that's the ultimate future of gaming I'd probably quit.

They don't deserve to be on top and it's not 'the way it should be'. Nintendo is really close to deserving to be on top because of their bold vision and commitment and great games overall, but the total lack of good online, and soft first party support for wii so far and torrents of bad third party games or just bad gimmick games that sell well because th Wii is in the public conciousness... sort of make it lose marks. =\

Things will improve though.

not really. the wii is short term solution to nintendos long term problems. and in time the wii will be nothing but a dying fad.

hush puppies(remember those shoes)
the resurgence of the yo-yo's in the mid to late ninties.
jordans
tomagotchi's(exactly what the wii is)

everybody had these and wham a year or so later no one gave a damn about it. nintendo is trying to make the wii an ipod, something new and catchy with a cool user interface.

the ray gun(NES)

and a crap load of other fads. the wii is nothing but a quick cash fix. it's sad when people like you are blind to the facts especally by a quick cash scheme.
