I just watched the premiere. Really good. I liked Elwes' character a lot. The only part that felt a little off to me was the carriage ride. They were hamming it up so much that it felt like a bit too much. But the rest of the episode was hilarious, including the Mentalist joke.

It was nice to see Abby on last Friday's episode. I was worried that we'd just hear about Abby but never see her, which tends to feel awkward to me, but apparently Rachel Leigh Cook is actually appearing in a few episodes this season.

The mystery was good. You could kind of guess who it was once you found out that the environmentalist chick was the victim's daughter, but still a fun journey toward the truth. The mother was insanely obnoxious, which alternated between being funny and just being irritating. The best part was when they get kicked out of the house and Shawn turns to look at Gus and Gus is already long gone.

Loved this episode more than the last. But I loved Shawn introducing Gus as "jazz hands."

"He's allergic to rich white people."

And I actually didn't know who it really was. It surprised me.

About time this thread started picking up again. It's better than Monk that's for sure.

I agree. Those were hilarious especially how Shawn said Jazz Hands like it was a real name and Gus waved his hands.

I actually did figure out who it was, but more by instinct than by actually figuring it out. The popsicle with the paper on it was what made me think it was him.

That's what I was wondering. I'm watching Lassie unhook his holster in front of a half-dozen other cops and Stinky Feet Pete doing the same and I'm like, "What would even be the point if you actually managed to shoot him first, Pete?" Additional resisting arrest and assault with a deadly weapon charges on top of your murder and thievery?

He said he had been playing a villain so long the lines got blurred. He was sticking true to the old west villain within him.
