Like someone stated on IMDB, it has a real Collateral/Miami Vice look which I like.

I wasn't a fan of Miami Vice's look, only because I don't think it actually helped the film. This, though, I can live with. I'd love to see an era film done with that kind of camera.

Shootout Clips

Bale at around 1:08 I think

Mann's Shootouts sound incredibly real

I disagree on MV because I feel Miami itself is so vibrant and colorful that the cameras really brought it out....I agree on the HD cameras being a good choice for this film however

Great finds on the pics and video Donnie. The HD camera should really help capture that night shootout the way it did the one in Miami Vice.

I had no clue about this movie until yesterday when a friend mentioned it.
It's almost like a dream, Bale and Depp in the same movie.

I'm so in.

Finally. Bale. I was waiting for him to pop on up.

Purvis was crazy, man. He killed these outlaws when their backs were turned, wounded on the ground. Pure badass. He showed them as much mercy as they showed others. Good choice, Bale.

Oh, that's the chick from La vie en rose? She's complete hotness!

Also, I cannot wait to hear Thompsons, .45s, etc. firing in this movie! Mann knows how to capture a gunshot better than anyone. It isn't like the cap guns of most movies, its realistic as in the gunshot is louder than anything else, and its very perceptibly many levels louder. I think Mann actually captures the real time sound of the weapons, their reverberations against the environment (which dramatically helps sell the sound), and doesnt paste canned sound effects in later on.

Yeah, I mean even the behind the scenes footage sounds great! Can't wait for the final product.

You should watch the movie "Taxi" then, the real one not the horrible american remake. She's quite something in there! She's also very stunning in the film "A good year" with Russell Crowe.

Johnny Depp turned into a real-life action hero on the set of his latest crime drama, “Public Enemies,” and saved a group of extras from being struck down by an out-of-control car, British tabloid News of the World reports. Depp, 44, was reportedly shooting a scene as bank robber John Dillinger when a stunt driver in a 1933 Ford sped onto a patch of ice and skidded towards six extras, who were standing with their backs turned, oblivious to the danger. But according to an eyewitness, the “Sweeney Todd” star stepped into action and “slammed into the group with arms outspread, shoving them all back,” just in the nick of the time! According to the News, no one was hurt.

I'm waiting for this to come out so I can be in the audience like I was with Batman Begins and yell out, "I know that place! I walk by that building everyday, man!"

First Look: Bale In Costume, In Public
Michael Mann’s gangster period piece is filming up in Columbus Ohio, and pictures keep streaming in of Depp on set, talking to folks.
Johnny Depp seems to be a nice guy when you run into him, as occasionally pictures will pop up on Flickr with a caption like: “OMG I met jack sparrow and he wuz sooooooo nice!”
These are the first pictures we have seen of Christian Bale in costume as Melvin Purvis in the 1930s gangster pic.
But all we can see is 1930s Bruce Wayne.

I resized the pics so they don´t take up the entire page, just click on them to get the full size image.
