From those reviews it sounds pretty damn cool.

I noticed most if not all had barely anything to say about Bale, and the few that did it was very brief.

Sad to think if it's because of his rant or not. Hopefully people won't **** on him in future films because of that.

I doubt it has anything to do with that. Sounds like his character is underdeveloped

I'm not liking what I'm hearing about Purvis. A lot of the reason I was looking forward to the film was because of Bale.

I'm still more than willing to give it a shot.

I heard that about Bale's character way before the rant thing blew up.

A review of a screening a few months ago said the same thing, his character was underdeveloped, and he didn't have enough connection with Depp's character either.

i'm trying to avoid the reviews, just dont want to have someone else's perceptions to taint my own.

i wouldnt put too much stock on the test screenings though. those things are always so-so, because i think half the time they're "sheep" (folks who dont have a strong opinion on anything)

what role did you play in it? seen any of the cast? got a chance to be directed by Mann?

I worked on the Aragon Ballroom sequence for a couple looooong nights. The scenes featured Depp, his crew (Giovanni Ribisi, Stephen Dorff, David Wenham, and a couple others), and Marion Cotillard.

The cast was really great, especially Depp who would be dancing with extras as the night got later and later. It was really good for morale. Highlights of the shoot was when Depp as Dillinger approached myself and the girl I was walking through the set with and looked us up and down and gave me the "nice" look. An hour or so later, Mann actually moved me physically in the scene, which was AWESOME!

It was an incredible time and can't wait to see the finished film! Check out the big ballroom sequence with the lady in the red dress and keep an eye out for your pal Thresh!

Yeah, I walked within the shots a bunch of times. I'm totally going to freak out in the movie theater if I see me or any of my buddies I befriended while working on the set!

In regards to Purvis being under developed, I think the people who said that in the screenings would say the sam for Robert De Niro in Heat.

I remember Mann saying in an interview with Empire, Purvis is going to be a quiet, pensive, obsessive predator.

From Comigsoon. Public enemies spot is not confirmed but this is the most logical place to be aired since the movie doesn't release any footage only few pictures. the chance to be with the Oscars in 50/50

I thought Terminator Salvation was also confirmed?

if they're seriously considering this as Oscar eligible they're better off releasing this film at the end of the year. but its a good old fashion gangster movie. summer is a good time to release it.
