Punisher is going to take up Captain America Mantle (maybe, for a little bit)

I do too, but [blackout]it's likely Cap's imprisonment will last for a while and that leaves an ongoing without a main character.[/blackout].
Wasn't there talk of [blackout]Cap being the most wanted man in the country after Civil War[/blackout] a while back? What happened to that?

I'd like to see this lead to a WInter Soldier/ Punisher team-up or confrontation.

The solicits for #6 and 7 hint at Punisher taking on a new look or something like that.

I don't get why characters like Punisher and Spidey always kiss Captain America's ass. Cap is an incredibly boring hero.

They look up to Cap because he is the most principled hero out there. Nothing but class, the standard upon which other heroes are judged. From a character standpoint, Cap is Marvel's equivalent to Superman.

Wolverine is a boring hero, you don't see me complaining.

"Slash!,slash!,I'm mad!,crap,I can't remember ****!"

Captain America #25 cover...

If that's not Castle or Fury, I don't know who it is.

That would Suggest him breaking out....which would go completely against him surrendering.

Anyway Winter Soldier taking over would make the most sense, but the Punisher taking over would kick the most ass.

If he does I could just see it being a temporary thing to get the upper hand on a Cap villain.

Imageine Cap pulling a gun on Crossbones. Corssbones would know cap would never shoot him so he would advance. Then Imagine Crossbones' surprize when he does shoot him.

Man...why haven't I been reading Punisher?

But is not Captain America captain Amrica because of his peak human skills whereas Punchiser is not peak human or am I mistaken.

No, but he's damn tough. Had he been fighting back he could have held his own against Cap.

Hahahaha, no, he couldn't. He could've put up a better-than-average fight, but he would've been down and out in about ten seconds if we're just talking hand-to-hand.

i don't remember seeing frank on the cover to #7....

Am I the only person who remembers that "What If" issue where Cap (Steve) was hurt and the Government made Frank Castle the new Captain America. I actually liked that issue.

I just read a preview of Captain America, cover by McGinnis, that described the new Captain America Comic like it would BLOW YOUR MIND. And that this explains what happens to Cap after Civil War, and you can only see it hear type stuff.

I think Frank being Cap would blow my mind.
I also think it would almost ruin the Captain America persona if Frank acted like Frank while wearing the costume, and killed criminals.

But I can see it happening.

Frank has too much respect for Capt. and the name of Capt. America to sully it by killing every villain he sees. If Frank does become Capt. I think he'll act like Capt. and hold back from killing the villians.

Is it me, or does identity-switching seem to be Marvel's new schtick lately? Echo was Ronin but now Ronin's someone new; Iron Fist was acting as Daredevil; Speedball is now Penance and Penance is getting a new name in The Loners; Hercules' name has been given to one of the new Champions; Clint's Hawkeye moniker is now Kate Bishop's... Seriously, what's the deal?

I dunno. Maybe this is Marvel's way of doing legacy characters.

if the punisher is captain america then i really AM the 3d-man
and you may quote me

What's going on with Penance and the Loners? Don't remember ever hearing about that one.

I read on Wikipedia that Penance is going to be joining the support group. Whether that'll translate into her being a member of the Loners team or not, I don't know.

It's a pretty f***ing horrible way to do them, if that's the case. It's like they took the absolute worst model of DC's legacy characters--the Kyle-replacing-Hal/Ryan-replacing-Ray/Jaime-replacing-Ted model--and decided to apply that across the board.
