no he's a man on fireArtistsean said:Here is how I imagine the fight happening. Somehow Johnny gets into a battle with Pyra, maybe because the FF is fighting the Brotherhood.
Johnny knows that Pyro controls fire, but didn't realize that maybe Pyra can control Johnny's fire. He "Flames on" But Pyro starts controlling Johnny, since Johnny in in Human Torch form is living fire. Johnny is controlled very breifly before turning back to human. He has no choice but to fight Pyro with his fists. First he must level the feild and take Pyro's fire away. After a few near hits of flames and some shots of his own fire balls that Pyro catches in time and throws back at him, Johnny is able to get a shot in that destroys Pyros fire supply. Leaving Pyro without any fire to control.
Now Pyro has no choice but to fight physically, without powers, and then he is outmatched by Johnny.

The Question said:Meh. I think the fact that Marvel, overall, majorly boosted all of their characters powers to insane levels was a bad move. The Hulk used to be alot less powerful than he is now. And in alot of ways, I kind of prefered it when he was.

"HUlk Smash!!!!!!!!!!!!!"The Question said:That's nice, Hulk. I still think your upgrade to island toeing, time punching god of strength was pointless and ridiculous.
That's not true. Johnny and Bobby Drake both long ago transcended the "man covered by substance" status of their transformations. While at lower levels they control their powers to an extent where they simply cover themselves with ice/fire, after they pass a certain threshold they become fire/ice. You see Johnny's powers come from heat generated from within him, not from external sources. So the hotter Johnny gets the hotter his physical form gets. Even if he is "fire-resistent", meaning he doesn't burn, he still gets hot and has to generate enough heat to get that hot. Therefore his body must become like a star in essence, thus explaining his ability to go Nova.unstoppable said:no he's a man on fire
No, it retains it's physical form but is in fact living flame. Similar to Bobby Drake, who becomes living ice. Only at primary, low level heat is he consumed.Silicon Surfer said:Johnnys body remains solid and merely covers itself in flame.
They also say Speedball was killed in the explosion at Stamford .Silicon Surfer said:

Super Mark said:Even if you gave Pyro flamethrowers, a lighter, a can of gas and a match (sorry MM) and a box of sparklers, Torch still takes him.
It's like Torch has all of Pyro's powers plus more of his own. All at a typically higher level.
Oh, and BTW Fading, thanks for pointing out that this fight would take place when Pyro was alive. Really. That helped me with my decision.

Arach Knight said:1)Bobby Drake did not ascend to any new level. White Queen took over his body, and SHE ascended him to a new level. If not for her, we'd still have classic bald look iceman.
